Bottom Up Climbs
In 2013, we decided to start a series of projects: complete the ascent of an area from its lowest to its highest point, 100% man powered.
After a few small climbs, we felt ready for Bottom Up Switzerland: from the shore of the Lago Maggiore, to the Dufourspitze, in the Monte Rosa range, cycling, running, hiking and skiing.
You can have a look at Alessio, Beppe and Justin's journey through Switzerland here and at Anne-Marie's here.
Bottom Up Volcanic Seven Summits
In 2014 we headed for something even bigger. The Volcanic Seven Summits are the highest volcanoes in each of the seven continents. Bottom Up Volcanic Seven Summits means that we are going to climb up to the mountain, from the lowest point of the Country where it lies.
Why the Volcanic Seven Summits? Watch Anne-Marie telling you the answer, very honestly.
Last year we went to Asia, and we climbed Mount Damavand, the highest mountain in Iran and highest Volcano in Asia, starting from the shore of the Caspian Sea. It has been an amazing experience, lived side by side with a group of great local people. You can watch here a short video about this unforgettable experience.
Bottom Up Africa
This year, 2015, we are going to Africa. The highest volcano (and highest mountain!) in Africa is Mount Kilimanjaro. We are going to climb it from the shore of the Indian Ocean, Tanga, in Tanzania.
We are going to be supported again by a group of local people and guides and we are going to have a two people film crew with us.
Helping to help
2% of the fundings that we will receive from you will go to our long time partner charity Paulchen Esperanza.
2% will go to support the Tibetan refugees in Nepal after the two dramatic recent earthquakes through the Yeshe Norbu NGO (website only in Italian, sorry international friends...)
All what is exceeding the budget we need, is going to be divided into equal parts between Paulchen Esperanza and Yeshe Norbu.
What we need
The three of us are going to Tanzania and will be joined by a two people filming crew. We need money for the flight tickets, the guiding and climbing permit (mandatory on Mount Kilimanjaro) and the cycling part assistance.
Flight tickets
3 x 500 EUR (the two tickets for the filming crew have been offered by a friend of ours)
Kilimanjaro guiding and climbing permit
4 x 1500 EUR (only one film crew member is going to summit)
Cycling guiding and assistance
5 x 300 EUR
Why should you support us?
Well, first of all, we have amazing perks, for all outdoor enthusiasts, and not only, check them out!
Then, you get the chance to be a part of something extraordinary for ordinary people, and one day this will perhaps be your inspiration for something extraordinary.
Last nut not least, we have direct contacts with two charity foundations which we totally trust and at least 4% of the fundings will go to them, so you get a chance to help us helping them.
Watch our team member Giuseppe telling you more about the project and why you should be part of it.
