Opening our new location at Navy Pier is a dream come true! It's a great opportunity to give the world a true southern, African American, dessert experience. All that's left to do is renovate our new location. We will use the money we raise to complete buildout construction, purchase our new equipment and provide storage that is needed to meet our new customer demands.
Stephanie Hart opened Brown Sugar Bakery in 2004 and since then, she has developed a client base that appreciates the love that they taste in all of her cakes. Stephanie has perfected her caramel desserts and is constantly coming up with new and delicious recipes. This Greater Grand Crossing bakery is "dangerously delicious," and it delivers on the promise with cheesecakes, cupcakes, cobblers, cookies, pies and more. Specialty sweets include sweet potato pie, peach cobbler and bread pudding. Nearly 20 whole cake flavors are available, including German Chocolate, Red velvet, Carrot and Turtle. Conveniently located just blocks from I-94, you find yourself feeling right at home in the warm & fuzzy cafe. In 2012 She was featured as "Chicago's Best" on WGN, in 2013 She was award America's Best Bakery on the Steve Harvey Show and in 2014 she competed on Food Network "Holiday Baking Championship".
