Osmund, a travelling plague doctor, sets out to the town of Studmarsh after reports of sickness spreading. Upon his arrival, he meets Vincent, a local farmer. Vincent guides Osmund to the nearby mines where they've been keeping the sick townspeople. Osmund ventures into the mines but find something far more malevolent lurking within. Osmund slowly comes to realise his dark past is beginning to plague him through ghastly hallucinations. He must either face his past and take responsibility for his actions or succumb to insanity entirely.

Bury the Hatchet explores several current issues through the tactile aesthetic of the 17th century period along with the gripping excitement that is inextricable to the genre of horror. Ultimately, this tale is about a man pushed to the absolute edge, battling grief, loss and guilt in the midst of a ravenous, global, pandemic.

As you can see from the budget above, we require £5000 to make Bury The Hatchet, however taking into account our separate personal contributions we only require £3160 from Indiegogo (including our fees for crowdfunding).

The budget breakdown makes it clear how there are several costs involved to produce our film Bury the Hatchet. All of these costs are essential, for example professional actors plus food to provide each day, locations such as a 17th century village and mine, travel to these interesting locations, 17th century costume and props, fire safety kits and first aid kits due to using fire lanterns and finally to get professional content we will require accommodation to maximize our shooting days. These main costs are vital to tell our story, so with your help we feel we can really do the piece justice.

Bury the Hatchet is our final film project at University of Hertfordshire (School of Creative Arts) and even the smallest donation would make a huge difference to our self-funded production which relies on its crowdfunding campaign. We have formed a group of ambitious creatives who have a strong background, working for more than a year in the UK Film and TV industry.
