Director's Statement

Matthew Baltar is a Senior at George Mason University, majoring in Film with a concentration in Cinematography.

Matt has had a burning passion for the Horror genre since he first saw the original Friday the 13th with his uncle as a kid. From there he has fallen in love with many different horror movies across all genres and tropes like zombie, vampire, psychological, and supernatural. Matt's passion for the genre and personal struggles are the main inspiration for Cerberus.

"Cerberus will play on my childhood fears, passion, and inspiration to tell a story about grief, isolation, and suffering while diving into the unknown of supernatural occurrences.

After College, I look forward to taking the leap in pursuing my dream in LA to work in the camera department. As long as I'm working with visual storytelling, that's all that matters."

'Cerberus' Synopsis

An unassuming job turns into a nightmare for Reagan, a recent veterinary medicine graduate, who is struggling to find a job in her field while struggling with anxiety and depression. To make ends meet, Reagan takes a dog-sitting job at a secluded house in the woods. Upon arriving, she discovers strange occurrences in the house, including a mysterious locked door, an ominous note left by the owner, and no dog to be found. The only evidence of the dog is a foul-smelling dog bowl filled with meat, and a loose collar labeled “Cerberus”. Reagan elects to stay the night and fulfill the job, and as night falls, a decision she begins to regret.
