The Summary: What the Book Is About and How YOU Can Make a Difference
Hi! My name is Christine E. Schulze. I am an author of fantasy and Christian fantasy.
I usually write for young adult and middle grade, but lately I've been branching out into children's books as well. This campaign is to raise funds to create and publish my latest project, The Amazing K, which tells a zany, fun adventure about two groups of pirates searching for treasure in outer space. It's a great little adventure to show children how to be accepting of differences. Sprinkled with humor, action, and amazing illustrations from Catty Flores, it's sure to be a page-turner!

The Amazing K is a very special book for a couple of different reasons. Please allow me to tell you about them and why I would really appreciate your help in making this book a reality.
First of all, the main heroes of our story, Kane and Kaylee, as well as some of the secondary characters, are children with disabilities. Fantasy and adventure are some of my favorite genres, but they are also genres in which folks with disabilities rarely get to be the main stars or heroes. Thus, I am creating this book and plan to include main characters with disabilities in more of my future books as well.
Secondly, this book was inspired by Trinity Services, my current place of employment. Trinity offers both a day program and residential services to folks with disabilities. I work at the day program where we offer a variety of great programs where our folks can learn, grow, explore their interests, and lead the most abundant, independent lives possible. From art to music, cooking to gardening, we learn a lot and have a lot of fun doing so!
Associated with Trinity Services is a foundation called ALFA. ALFA is a charity founded by a group of Trinity parents in 2007. They raise funds and provide volunteers so that all the great programs Trinity offers to folks with disabilities can continue to grow and expand.
Upon publication, I will be donating 25% of all royalties from The Amazing K to ALFA. As Trinity continues to expand and open up new sites and programs, the royalties donated to ALFA will help us create an even better environment of learning and creativity for our folks.
So there you have it, two great reasons to give to this project: You're helping create a book where kids with disabilities get to be the stars, which is awesome in and of itself. But you're also helping give to a wonderful program that really cares about folks with disabilities, bettering their lives, and helping them express their creativity.
Please help folks with disabilities lead full and abundant lives by donating to this project and making this book a reality! Even if you can't donate, please help spread the word to family, friends, and through social media like Facebook and Twitter. Anything and everything helps!
I'll be updating the book's progress here, as well as on my blog and Facebook. Feel free to check out both links:

What I Need & What You Get
The majority of funds ($1,300) will go entirely toward the creation and publication of the book. The remaining $200 will go toward printing the initial copies to be sent out; anything left over will be donated directly to ALFA.
If all funds are not reached, whatever is reached will still go toward the production of the book.
As for the perks, I am offering a variety of items and prize packages related to the book, starting with a desktop background of one of the book's illustrations and ranging all the way to a package in which you get not only The Amazing K but some of my other best-selling works--all autographed of course!
