Our mission
"Chrome” is an open space for LGBT society and its friends. Unlike
numerous other LGBT organizations our goal is not about rights protection or
agitation but creating a safe area where tolerance of the team, friendly
atmosphere and creative leisure allow to realize the universality of human
values. Thanks to aсtive involvement of
LGBT-friendly heterosexuals step by step we adjust differences between
LGBT-community and society as well as influence mutual problems solving.
“Chrome” LGBT place is a small step towards our big dream which is to see the LGBT community as anessential part of new progressive and tolerant Ukrainian society.
Despite the fact that Chrome exists only since 2012 we have managed to conquer thousands of hearts of people who are not indifferent to the LGBT community.
Our path has begun from an online LGBT radio which allowed many activists and volunteers all over the country to illuminate the real state of LGBT rights in Ukraine. This project helped us to realize that people are eager to know not only about
troubles and difficulties but also to hear the voices of sincere people and see
the happy future of the people equal to them.
Remarkable events
On January 18, 2014,
the “Chrome space” for LGBT and LGBT-friendly people was opened and “Chrome
Vision” Youtube channel was created.
In February 2014 we have developed our own
training session for those who are willing to understand themselves and their
partners. The “5 languages of love” training has become very popular not only
inside our community but also outside our city.
On May 10, 2014, the
first official event of “Chrome Action” project was held. It was an active
adventure quest in the streets of our city.
On February 1, 2016,
the “Chrome space” organization moves to a new place in the downtown and a
major reformation begins.
Within 2 years “Chrome
Space” was visited by almost 2000 of people, including citizens of Russia,
Belorussia, Germany and Holland. Moreover, “Chrome Space” has been home for 7
visitors in-need for more than a month.
Departments
"Chrome Space" is an open space for
creative ideas realization, work and leisure. Constant events: live music
concerts, trainings, workshops, games and contests.
"Chrome Action" is a project for active pastime and recreation. Constant events:
city-quests, summer camps, sport contests etc.
"Chrome Vision" is a YouTube channel where motivation videos, events and projects announcements as well as entertaining videos are uploaded.
"Chrome Shop" is a shop which sells handmade goods like
cosmetics, adornments, interior decorations, clothes etc.
Our financing
Almost the 100% of the
organization budget is based on visitors’ and project participants’
investments. That shows the high level of community support. However, despite
our independence, we realize that the investments of the non-indifferent people
is not enough for “Chrome Space” development and reaching the global purposes
we have.
Within the 2 years we have
realized that “Chrome” is necessary for not only LGBT community and not only in
Dnipropetrovsk. The whole Ukrainian society needs such places where LGBT
community can feel safe spending time together with LGBT-friendly
heterosexuals. What is more, it is important for LGBT-friendly straight people
to find out more about LGBT community life and see it with their own eyes.
That’s why we are eager to open such places as “Chrome” in other cities, first
of all in Kharkiv and Kirovograd.
In addition, “Chrome Space” has a
well-developed business scheme which will let us to follow market rules and
evolve the chain of LGBT open spaces. That is why we do need your help to
fulfill these plans.
Thanks to the “Indigogo”
financial project we will refresh our open space, in particular:
-
Equip our café-zone
with the necessary facilities.
-
Purchase the necessary
furniture for our guests.
- Purchase a projector
and technical devices for movie-theatre and co-working center.
-
Create a small stage
for live music concerts.
-
All the money
collected will be invested into new “Chrome Space” foundation in Kirovograd.
