CRAVE
El seeks freedom from her addiction, to break free from her isolated existence. The day has come for her to release herself from her condition as well as surrender to her fate. CRAVE, a short noir-thriller, aims to explore and bring awareness to addiction, depression and suicide through the cautionary tale of a reluctant vampire, set in Brighton in 1984.
We are a small collective of experienced film makers and producers, and with this campaign, we hope to reach wider audiences. We will be experimenting with the popular fantastical tale of a demi-human blood-sustained victim of addiction (a reluctant vampire) while setting the film in 1984 on the south coast of the UK, which allows us to portray a less-connected world, in which El might have inhabited and attempted to thrive in, having lived for centuries in antiquated ideas of her kind.
This campaign will enable us to pay our cast and crew to industry and Equity standard, create a work which we are proud of, and help to distribute the project through film festivals. Basically, make this fever-dream, a reality!

The Impact
As this film explores topics which are currently (and thankfully) in the mental-health-discussion, particularly around isolation, addiction and suicide, we are taking this film to charities and awareness boards across the UK in hopes of using the film to distribute and encourage the conversation around these topics. This film is dedicated to some special people, close to our hearts, who suffered with these conditions and lost their lives and so we hope to prevent that cycle from repeating itself, while also providing some sort of uplift and entertainment.
