It’s that time again! Last year, we raised over $13K from fans and supporters just like you, allowing us to produce THREE exciting Avalon Universe fan films: the award-winning “Agent of New Worlds,” the just-released “Needs of the One,” and the upcoming “Knights of the Void,” which has been fully filmed and is currently in post-production.
This time, we’re asking our fans and supporters for $8K to tackle our most ambitious fan production yet: “Crisis on Infinite Excaliburs.” This is the big one: an action-packed, multi-versal crossover of realities including the Avalon Universe, Prime Star Trek Universe, Mirror Universe, Kelvin Universe, Orville Universe, Babylon 5 universe…well, you get the idea.

Starting in October of 2018, we began producing and releasing high-quality Star Trek fan films--nine of them so far--which can be viewed on our YouTube channel. You’ll notice that these fan films have a polished and professional look in terms of lighting, sound, acting, direction, editing, set construction, costumes and make-up, VFX, and music.
Showrunner Joshua Irwin works in the film industry himself and surrounds himself with a team skilled technical producers, set production designers, make-up and VFX artists, costumers, and music composers, along with experienced actors capable portraying fascinating and compelling characters.
Team Avalon is made up of fans who have the drive to make Star Trek fan films of the highest caliber and the skills and knowledge to turn that drive into an impressive and satisfying reality. Donor money is spent wisely and effectively. Take a look at our previous releases, and you can see for yourself!

We understand that $8K is a good amount of money to put into a volunteer-produced Star Trek fan film. But our top priority on every project is to manage our funds carefully. Expenses are kept as low as possible, but there will always be items that must be paid for, including…
Travel Expenses – Our cast and crew are hard-working people with jobs and bills and mouths to feed. As such, we never ask them to pay for the privilege of volunteering to make a fan film. We reimburse them for any travel expenses like gas, lodging, and in certain circumstances when coming from many states away, air fare. When we can, we’ll carpool and offer out-of-towners guest rooms and/or crash space for a few nights, but that’s not always possible.
New TOS set – While the majority of our fan films are shot on the existing TOS sets at both WARP 66 Studios in Arkansas and Neutral Zones Studios in Georgia, “Crisis on Infinite Excaliburs” requires the construction of a new but very familiar TOS set that has never been seen in any fan film to date. It will be necessary to buy construction materials and equipment to properly build this brand new set.
Make-up Supplies – In the past, we’ve featured Vulcans, Andorians, Orions, and Klingons, and this latest production is no exception.
Costumes – The U.S.S. Excalibur is a fully-crewed ship, and it needs to look that way. This means extras manning the various stations on the bridge, working in engineering, walking the corridors, etc. And in order for Avalon fan films to look as good as they do, the uniforms and other costumes need to be high quality. Also, because this production crosses universes, “Crisis on Infinite Excaliburs” will require well-fitting uniforms from other sci-fi franchises, as well, like Orville and Babylon 5.
Food - Feeding a hardworking cast and crew is vitally important. As we said, we don’t expect our team to pay for the privilege of volunteering, and so we supply them with meals on set so they can operate at their best.
Equipment – We already have high-quality cameras, lighting and sound equipment, etc., but sometimes there are items like special lenses that are impractical for us to purchase and own but can be rented for our filming days. Also, we’ll need hard drives to store all of our digital footage for editing.
Perks – For this campaign, we’re offering perks. And while most of the perks at the lower donation levels will be digital (like jpegs and mp3 files) and cost us nothing, other perks like T-shirts, smart-phone cases, and crew jackets will need to be paid for. There won’t be too many of these items produced (unless we get a flood of large donations!), but they will still be quality physical items requiring manufacture and shipping.
The Little Things - The big things are easy to account for, but all the small stuff--from hair spray and clothing steamers to camera batteries and memory cards--makes a big impact on the budgetary needs of a film.

In our last crowd-funding campaign, we weren’t able to offer anything because we were using GoFundMe. But as we just mentioned above, this time we can offer some exciting items for you. Just for donating (any amount!), you’ll receive an Avalon Universe smart-phone digital background image and an mp3 of the music from our many Avalon releases.
At higher donation levels, we have cool stuff ranging from digital posters to, Avalon Universe T-shirts, 3D-printed Excalibur chest badges, Avalon Universe smart phone cases (for any size phone a donor specifies), and a very awesome Avalon Universe Crew jacket! At the highest donation levels, not only do you get your name in the credits, but you’ll be listed as either an associate producer, producer, or even executive producer…and that listing will be posted to IMDb.com. Oh, and those highest donation levels also include a voice-over in the film, and (at the highest level) a walk-on role for the donor if he or she wants to appear on camera.
But even if you don’t have enough for the big stuff, every donation of $10 or more will get your name listed in the credits along with a complimentary smart-phone digital background image and music mp3 file…plus all project updates as our work progresses.

Your support means everything to us—literally. Without our donors and supporters, these lovingly-crafted Avalon Universe fan films would remain simply as words trapped on a page. But you help turn those words into visuals and sound, VFX and music, and wonderfully acted and directed stories that drive your emotions, inspire your imagination, and most of all, entertain you with good, old-fashioned Star Trek style stories.
So whether you give $10, $100, or $1,000…you help make a difference. Your donation matters, and we can’t thank you enough!
