A NEIGHBORHOOD COFFEE SHOP
On North Avenue, just west of
Western, there's an amazing block, surrounded by interesting shops and many
passionate people. Cup & Spoon is my dream for the neighborhood. It’s a place where people can meet over a great cup of coffee for conversation,
work, collaboration and laughter.
I need your help to make it
happen.

THE LITTLE POP UP THAT COULD
While waiting for just the
right space to open up, I’ve been operating Cup & Spoon as a pop-up coffee
shop at The Nosh and Logan Square Farmer’s Market. Every Sunday for the past
four months, my boyfriend Suneil and my brother Frankie have assisted me in
serving Chicago’s best coffee, tea, and Cheap Tart Pastries to weekly market-goers.
We’re thrilled to finally have an answer to the question, “So, where is your shop located?”

COFFEE MEETS ART
My search for the right space led to Iwona Biedermann, a talented photographer who owns Dreambox Foto Studio.
Cup & Spoon will operate as part of the gallery space, and we hope to make it a location for art showings, poetry readings and more!

FUELING A DREAM
For me Cup & Spoon is not about finding employment. (I left a great position to pursue making this happen.) This is about a dream I have for my neighborhood – the fostering of community by providing a gathering space. Dreams are priceless – but they don’t come cheap.
I have 30 days to raise these funds. Your contribution will be used to offset a portion of the build-out (75%) and equipment costs (25%) — plumbing, electric, construction, so many sinks! — associated with transforming a gallery space into a coffee bar.

THE PERKS, PUN INTENDED
To thank you for your generous contribution I'm offering some great, one-of-a-kind perks. From free cups of coffee, to brew magnets, to an awesome mini coffee table book signed by the author, I hope each item brightens your day.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU
The best part of this journey is encountering people like you who support the dreams of small business owners. Thank you!
I could not have launched this campaign without the help of many friends and neighbors. I am beyond blessed to have talented people in my life like Vanessa Maganza, designer of Cup & Spoon's logo, RC Jones, author of Coolness Graphed, and Kiki Karpus,
graphic designer extraordinaire who created each brew magnet.
Thank you to all who appeared in the video, Jeff Callen for artfully capturing the footage, Jeff Galfond from the band Eggs for composing original music, and Keith Kristinat, from The Colonie editorial house, for putting all the pieces of the puzzle together.

Rosie
