EVERYONE BENEFITS FROM THE BLOCKCHAIN!

Don’t let “Blockchain” scare you.

Simply put, the blockchain technology behind The Dept. of GOOD is what makes us even more unique.

What is blockchain technology?

First, let’s get something straight: Blockchain IS NOT cryptocurrency. It’s simply a technology that allows for complete transparency in everything we do.

For instance, everytime you make a purchase, the donation is IMMEDIATELY given to its respective cause. It’s tracked, timestamped and cannot be changed or manipulated by anyone. That way, you can be absolutely sure we mean what we say.

Not to bog you down with more details but this will also be a game changer for our retailer network.

WHY WE NEED FUNDING

Your contribution will allow us to complete our blockchain technology, on board new partners, and find innovative product.  Help us trail-blaze a different way of buying, selling and supporting community.

Is it ambitious?

Yes, but with your help we can be the catalyst for a paradigm shift in,

Pioneering The GOOD Economy.

Joey founded ONEXONE, a Toronto-based, international organization dedicated to giving children around the world access to water, healthcare, education, nutrition, and play.

Armed with a vision, her entrepreneurial spirit, a contagious passion for cause marketing and a wealth of experience working with “the big guys”, Joey moved to Venice, California, in 2015, and the Dept. of GOOD was born. She has been totally dedicated to building and partnering with purpose-based brands and community-focused businesses across the globe.

Trey is originally from North Carolina and made his way to California by way of New York. He spent five years in Manhattan on tour dancing with the Tony Award-winning Broadway show Blast! After a career-ending spinal injury, Trey flew to Los Angeles for physical therapy and rehab - and fell in love with LA upon arrival. He has lived there since.

Trey began his career in the garment industry as a retail manager and fashion buyer, which eventually gave way to working on the wholesale side of the industry in sales and management. He had roles at esteemed companies such as President of Sales, 575 Denim and owner of The Penthouse Showroom, where he represented over fifty brands globally, and advised on design and development. Trey went on to launch his first brand Madisonpark Collective in 2010 and sold the brand in 2012. Following the sale of Madisonpark Collective, he was sought out by Gents to become a partner and President of the brand.

In 2017, Trey was introduced to Joey Adler and a synergistic relationship was born, which led him to join the Dept. of GOOD as Creative Director. Not long after, Trey’s vision of a gender-neutral fashion brand came to life as Shades of Black, a brand incubated on the Dept. of GOOD platform. In 2018 he became CEO of Shades of Black, a Dept of Good Company.

RISK & CHALLENGES

So what are the rest and the obstacles we face?

There is always risk when innovating and pushing boundaries.  However, the company has already developed many brands and have many more joining us each month.  We’ve challenged ourselves with presenting new and fresh innovative products everyday throughout the launch period until we’re the world’s No. 1 shopping site that is doing GOOD in the world.

The other perceived challenge is the blockchain technology that the site runs on.  In 2018 blockchain sounds a bit scary or “wild-west” but that couldn’t be further from the truth.  It’s just a way to allow you, our customers, our vendors, retailers and designers to all interact in a new way that is guaranteed to be quicker and more seamless than anything that went before.
