I have been making films most of my life, having worked in the media industry from independent/freelance work to contract company work within film and tv production companies.
Ulkurzu was created several years ago with our first executive production role for Phil Stevens Lung 2, we then continued to work with other film makers and production companies. Over the last few years we have mainly been involved as a financial source, we have always planned and discussed putting one of the numerous projects we have into production. And after several delays and unforeseen circumstances we finally was able to put a project that has had several name changes into pre-production and now here we are.
DeVOID originated as a short film and over time it progressed into a feature length project, it has been something that we have been working on for several years, the struggles of trying to get it into production and the ups and downs, but we didn’t give up on trying to get the ball rolling. DeVOID is a love letter to experimental cinema and horror.
We have filmed a large percentage of the film and have created a promo trailer, from the trailer and feedback some creative choices have been raised and will go under some consideration. We have more to film and some effects to build and that’s where you come in, some of the effects are larger pieces and will be all practical, we don’t believe in unnecessary CGI effects so it’s the time and resources needed to make some of the amazing practical effects happen.
As well as production, some of the money raised will go to getting an amazing score from Stephan Ortlepp, he has already done the score for the trailer and we can not wait to see what he comes up with for the feature, some additional art work from Martin Trafford and Joe Meredith who have both done an incredible piece that we are offering in several ways from DVD covers to T-shirts.
What ever funds we make will go directly and evenly to production and post production. We would just like to say thank you and to keep sharing the project and helping us make this film happen and embrace the darkness!!
