My dear friends and all good people all over the world, with your help and your contributions we can try to make Dima’s fight against HCV a success….
Who is Dima?
Dmitriy is a chef, husband, son, brother, uncle, motorcyclist and really good friend. He always helps to other people and he is the person you always can rely on.
When he was 20 years old doctrors had a suspicion on HCV. But at that time there was no methods in Ukraine to confirm the diagnosis. Now he is 37.
HVC diagnosis was confirmed only in 2004. For a long time he couldn't believe that its true because he is not drug addicted or something like that, he is normal person, owner of a small but really nice catering company, how come? But unfortunately sometimes evil happens (
HCV is very Insidious disease - you never know when you start to die and how much time do you have! But he is not alone...and we will try to help him.
Who am I and what's our story?
My name is Alexandra and I'm Dima’s girlfriend. We live together 4 years already. But the main question is...Do you belive in second chance? Because I do.
I already lost my first true love in a terrible car crash. He was driving home on a taxi and suddenly Audi q7 hit the taxi car from the back...he didn't survive. After that horrible night I wanted to die, I thought I'm going crazy...I had hallucinations, headache, didn't wont to eat, could't sleep. It was a nightmare! Such condition lasted almost a year, but Dima saved me. And I appreciate this. He is my best friend, he is my only man, he is my strength. I'm sorry that I'm talking about myself but this is important for you to understand how much he means to me and otheres. I'm not the one who he saved. He helped many people, saved them from drugs, street gangs, gave them a job, tought them new profession, helped their families... This is his God's gift to help others! Many people that Dima saved from different life troubles still near him for more than 10 years! And we all are trying to do the same for him now.
(His sister told me once that he didnt want even to try to treat HCV before he met me. And I wont give up untill he will be ok!)
HCV is expensive:
There is a couple of methods to treat HCV . The newest one that cures more than 93 percent of patients is the most expensive. It's called Harvoni and costs $1,125 per tablet for a day! 12-week course costs about 94 500 $.
Of course their is a cheaper treatment with less percentage of cured patients. This treatment last for 12 month and involve 2 medicaments, such as Pegasys and Pegintron.
I will be amazed if together we will be able to collect such big sum of money, but any way if we will collect money for cheaper treatment I would be the happiest girl in the world.
NB
The saddest thing is that we were collecting money by ourselves, working 24/7, trying to earn money to pay for the medicaments and doctors. And after some years we gathered enough money to start his treatment. But it was 2014 and War came to Ukraine. Ukraine's economic situation became catastrophic and our company became almost bankrand. So we had to put all the money we had to keep our company afloat. Our workers - chef, cooks, managers etc -they are like family to us and we wanted to pay their salaries, because they all have children to feed, and wanted to try to figure something out for our company to live and for people not to lose their job. But unfortunately we didnt make it (. We lost all the money that we gathered for treatment and didnt save the company in that condition that we wanted.
And now we must start everything over! But russian terrorists still kill our people, destroy our cities and economic conditions is very hard. We won't make it by ourselves and now we need YOUR HELP! Please search within your heart and dig deep into your pockets me and Dima is counting on your generosity. ALL of the funds raised will go towards helping Dima and his family to cope with his disease. We thank you all for your love and support!
Other way you can help!
Get the word out! Please encourage others to give! The more people will know about this fundraiser the more chance we will save Dima and give him a chance to live!
