Since Fall 2013, you’ve seen the historic Drewrys beer brand available on store shelves, and on tap in some of your favorite taverns and restaurants. Now, the revived Drewrys brewing operation – along with a tasting room, café and the Drewrys Beer Museum – plans to set up shop at its new downtown South Bend address.

At Drewrys, we’re excited to announce our location in the former Inwood’s Department Store, once a local landmark in its own right. We’re even more pleased to add to the energy of South Bend’s cultural and economic renaissance while bringing back this great brew, and to connect with old neighbors and new friends alike who are our partners in celebrating the Drewrys journey back to the city that loves it.

And that’s why we need your help! Because what a journey it’s been, from the minute that Chicago’s Frank Manzo first shared his vision to bring back the brand to that first open bottle of faithfully crafted, original-recipe lager. Your stories, all of the shared memorabilia, the festivals, tailgates and shows: They’ve added up to product demands we need to meet, and the pride in a South Bend facility to do it.

What We Need

Drewrys continues to be available under a contract brewing arrangement, and will continue to be as we transition the production to South Bend. But that means we need your support to keep the taps flowing in the new Drewrys brewery, located on Michigan Street and anchoring the “south hub” end of the downtown district, just a short walk from the flourishing Four Winds Field as well as the thriving riverfront scene.

In our business model, Drewrys is always your business too. We make great beer, it’s job one, and that means the lager tradition that everyone remembers as well as some small-volume craft and specialty offerings.  Our equity investors continue to step up, and they’re motivated by more than just a great beer with a legacy. Drewrys is poised for the future; the brand’s value, the potential impact on the city’s economic revitalization, and the fun and flair of our Drewrys culture make for attractive investment.

Because we value inclusiveness and welcome all kinds of stakeholders at Drewrys, we launched our crowdfunding campaign so that virtually everyone – at any of our tiers and perk levels – can celebrate in the new Drewrys journey, sharing a toast and a cold one too.
