Short Summary
Hi, my name is Jake Fertig and I am an award winning animator and filmmaker of such classics as Death Train to Christmas Town, The Circus, and the Krusaders of the Kanawha Valley. I have over 15 years experience in low budget and no budget film and animation work. My next project is an as of yet untitled horror film about the true story of origin of the Easter Bunny: demon possessed rabbits from outer space!
For me, the motivation for this project was to get to work with friends, colleagues, and former students in developing a project that promises to be fun. Over the years I have had many former students (and people in general) approach me and use the phrase “I wish I could….” when talking about making films and content for the internet. I have given alot of lip service to them about “Just make art”, but decided maybe the best thing to do is to develop a project myself and involved as many newbs in the process as possible.
The goal is to create something that is entertaining, and share the little experience I have along the way. Having worked on several projects myself in the past, and independently produced film and animation work for years, I want to share the joy of making low budget, weird movies.
But more importantly, I really want to make a movie about homicidal demon rabbits from another world.
So, here I am, asking the big wide world for money for my strange little movie. We are operating on a very low budget and so the amount of money we are trying to raise is very low. As a result, there are some great perks at an affordable price for anyone who wants to join in this venture with us.

What We Need & What You Get
Our needs are fairly basic:
- Equipment updates.
- A SPECIAL EFFECTS BUDGET! Making a movie like this requires some capitol. We are operating on a shoestring budget as it is, and ever dime will help.
- Food for the cast and crew! If you're lucky enough to get folks to work for your film for free, the least you can do is feed them. We can't have our actors falling over from starvation.
- Incidental costs and post production. Things like printing DVDs for our contributors, cases, online publishing, etc.
The Impact
The impact of your contribution is huge:
- It helps this veteran of low/no budget projects dream come true a little easier. The more money we raise the more we can do in the film. The more we can do, the more freedom there is. Giving artists freedom is always the right choice.
- This project is offering an educational experience for a new generation of super low budget filmmakers .
- It is helping us me offer this in an area that is fairly economically depressed, and giving an opportunity that is difficult to find elsewhere to young people I know will work to help me make something great.
- It helps me to make an awesome, super-low budget film for the world to enjoy.
