Smoothie Operator goes mobile, as in, 'on-wheels' !
For the past 3 years I have been running a small business called "Smoothie Operator". A mobile cafe servicing festivals, street fairs, private events, fund raisers and more. We are expanding this year to include a fully sustainable smoothie truck selling ORGANIC SUPER-FOOD SMOOTHIES, organic ice creams with a super-food twist and even some artisan snacks. The truck runs on bio-diesel. It's fully equipped with solar panels and a one of a kind, human powered 'bike-blender'. It truly is a sustainable food truck! With much gained knowledge and hands on experience that spans back over a decade in the food & beverage service industry, I've forged ahead on this important endeavor. My long resume includes many different roles. From being a bartender and server, to a manager and now the owner of Smoothie Operator, I am putting a new twist on delicious through things that are very nutritious. LOCAL, ORGANIC, SUPER-FOOD SMOOTHIES, KOMBUCHA, JUICE, AND MORE. With a smile on my face and a passion in my heart, I want to continue giving the people what they want. Healthy and delicious options that encompass a balanced and energetic lifestyle.

The food truck industry is booming. Smoothie sales have been on the rise since the 80's. People are getting more and more into solar power while at the same time health and nutrition is on everyone's mind. We truly believe that the energy of MUSIC has always brought people together. This project incorporates all of these things and so much more. For these reasons, we find our concept quite unique. We will be the first to do exactly what we are now doing. Not only are we selling smoothies, we are selling a concept.
This campaign is to raise money to outfit the truck and pay for the final fire inspection
There will be many stages and we are drawing closer to the final one. I have a clear vision of what I want and how to manage this operation. I just need the snowball to keep on rolling. The amount I need to raise is $17,000. With this amount, I am sure to be a success.
This Campaign is important to you because we need more healthy options out there. With all the deception being demonstrated in the food industry, Smoothie Operator is a name you can trust. We're doing good things with good attitudes! Starting by implementing policy to ensure a low environmental impact. Raising the bar on how to use renewable resources to our advantage. Using all organic, non-genetically modified products and sourcing as much food locally as we possibly can.

Once we reach stage 4, I have great confidence this will be successful. Not only is this going to be a Smoothie truck, it will also be a traveling educational entertainment vessel with the ability to serve thousands of people in a single day. One of the most exciting elements of Smoothie Operator is that there will be a small performance stage that will come off the nose of the truck and it will lend itself to the arts. We will sometimes provide free music, but the stage will also be a venue-for-hire to any would-be musicians who share Smoothie Operator's values and care to share their talents. I will be running a delivery service using electric bikes from 9-5 during the week and street fairs and parks on the weekends. We will continue doing festivals (after all it's where it all got started) with a goal of becoming an independently owned franchise spreading across the great state of California and even perhaps the country. We are committed to the FOOD REVOLUTION and to doing our part by adding healthy, organic sustainability to every tasty product we serve.

What happens if we don't reach our goal.
Not to worry, if by chance we don't get all the way there, we will still use the money toward the main goal. This project is going to happen regardless of whatever obstacles may get in our way and trust me, there have been quite a few thus far and it has not stopped us :)The excitement is spreading over Smoothie Operator and people are super enthusiastic about the 'fruition' of our concept! I have had so much support from the community and those who I have shared this idea with. I will never let the people or myself down. I am very passionate and confident about Smoothie Operator. This project WILL HAPPEN!
I believe this project is beneficial to everyone. It is a model for how people can and should eat and live sustainably. We practice what we preach and only hope to encourage others to live similarly by taking steps of their own to lower their environmental impact on the planet. We encourage people to be good to themselves and others through nutrition.
When I started Smoothie Operator 3 seasons ago I proved to myself that I was capable of running an inspirational business. With this confidence I am up for the challenge and wont stop until we've accomplished what we've set out to do.
Risks & Challenges
As with anything, there are risks. Not being able to raise enough money to complete this vision could be a reality, unfortunately. Money is a funny thing. If you have it, its hard to understand why people don't, but when you don't have any its hard to believe that you can make a dream a true reality one day. Money has never been my driving force and I have learned that from my father Ron Cacarillo. He once said "Follow your dreams Austin and the money will surely follow". After 35 years of living on this planet and almost 20 years of doing things other people's way, I believe my father's words are more true now than ever. I have a belief in what Smoothie Operator stands for and with a real belief and go-get-em attitude, I know that you can achieve anything. Thanks Dad, this ones for you.
