I had a 1st go-round swim class during my sophomore year of high school. When I dived in deep water, I was fearing for my life, because I didn’t know how to swim in deep water.
Women also face the deep end when they go out. They might be cat-called and harassed because they want to express themselves through clothing, and men misunderstand that. Check out what Hollaback! is doing to end this catcalling epidemic (CLICK HERE)
From my swim class experience, my female classmates wanted to wear bikinis, so they could feel feminine and beautiful. Still today, they should be feminine and beautiful, but at the same time, they should also feel safe.
That’s why I invented the ONEderkini and the 2-in-ONEderkini, so that they don’t have to face the deep end outside the pool, not even in gyms or yoga studios.
How did I create this line? It has the same uplifting feeling as the 2nd go-round swim class from my junior year of high school, and I felt empowered by my progress. Women deserved to be empowered too.
My name is Scoop Nemeth. I’m a broadcast journalism major and entrepreneurship minor at MSU Denver. My ultimate goal is to be a newscaster on Denver TV
Personally, I’m doing whatever it takes to achieve my goals, including this indiegogo campaign to fund my startup business making and selling multipurpose exercise swimwear.
Moreover, I have Aspergers, which makes it hard for me to talk more effectively. But, I want to state that Aspergers is not bad…it’s just different, and different is unique, like the onederkini and the 2-in-onederkini. Check out Autism Speaks on Symptoms of Aspergers (CLICK HERE)
Back to the 2nd go-round of swim class. In the deep end of the pool, I stayed near the edge, I went down into deep water, and I stroked my way back up to the surface, and then grabbed on to the edge.
This startup business will stay close to the edge.
- It will stay local: in-house seamstresses assembling the gear right in the store
- It will go deep into the health and fitness community.
-
It will use necessary strokes for this business to swim up to the top
I conquered the final step…the diving board. I dived into deep water, stayed down there for a few seconds, swam up to the surface, floated, then I finally swam back to the end of the pool.
Right now, I don’t know what the next steps will be, but I do know that I’m grateful to have my support system as my edge of safety
as I strengthen the business that will be an edge of safety to women.
Go to the link on the flyer and donate to my Indiegogo campaign, bout just to support my business, but also active women and the Aspergers community.
On that note, I would close with relationship, new ventures, new jobs, new challenges, whatever…we all jump into the deep end at some point. The question is, what will YOU do to swim up to the surface and back to the edge of safety?
