Hi there!

OK...so maybe Flip won't be on the ballot, but he would be incredible!!!
When I gave up looking for what I loved and just started "DOING" life...I FOUND IT!
Two years ago while at dinner in a place that uses butcher paper as a table cloth and gives you a bucket of crayons to doodle with I held a crayon in my hand. I'm not new to art, but it had been then almost 7 years since I created anything. Seven years ago while in the middle of painting a wall mural in my home my mother suffered a devastating stroke. I would never finish the painting. My whole life changed and I made a decision then I needed to find my happiness. It took me a couple years and many friends and family would visit and ask, "When are you going to complete that?!" In my heart I knew that I would never finish it, that life was over. Two years later I would end my marriage of 15 years and the last thing I did was go into the garage and grab a gallon of paint and wipe that off the wall.
So, there I was with a crayon in my hand and memories of shooting pains ran through my hands. I spent at least 6 hours a day for months on that mural. It was very hard for me to begin again something that reminded me of such a painful moment in my life, but the fire in me and drive to create art was much stronger and it won.
Through that process, I created two characters and tons of art. My art represents how I feel and see life. My message comes through my drawings of Silly Stiks and Flip de Bird.
Most of the best things in life we stumble upon and I just keep falling.
I originally drew Silly Stiks while trying to learn how to verbalize my feelings, it was easier for me to do this through my art.

Silly represented at first myself and very quickly she became many ladies little fan. She is every girl, we all have horns, halo and wings. The horns to me are the brattiness we all have on occasion, the halo is our sweetness and for me the wings represent what we always had and just needed to find. I love finding the secrets within myself.
Flip de Bird came about on accident. A wonderful friend asked me if I could draw Silly "flipping the bird!" Yikes! Ummmmm....considering her audience I had to come up with a bratty way to show this. So I drew Silly Stiks with a bird flipping around her arm and tada!!!!! Flip de Bird was born.

Flip is Silly's best friend, he's her hero. He suggests at times things Silly can't say and he redirects and shows her things she needs to learn. He is lovable, yet has a bit of sarcastic humor.
So! Where do we go from here? Silly and Flip have so much to do!
Yes! my art started as an accident, but where I'm at today is no accident. I have spent most of my days off and all evenings building what I have now. I recently received an award and my art was chosen for this year's theme in Portland at the Festival of Nations. This drawing below is that art piece.

I will be displaying my art at a local Panera Bread Restaurant and this February I have an art exhibit that runs the entire month.
What continually stops my momentum is a lack of funds. Everything I built has been mostly hard work and my time and pay as I go. I want to take Silly Business to the next level. I want to create an inventory of my art products and begin stocking  businesses with my creations and with your help I can do this.
With the funds I raise I will first deliver to you all your perks in time for you to even give as gifts this holiday. Next, I will print and frame all my art for my art show in February. I need to print and frame 15-20 art pieces for display and sale. This will cost me between $1200-$1500. Many of the pieces on display will sell and I'm very excited to be able to quickly replace the pieces as they sell, but I can only do that in a timely way by having the money to pre-print them all. Next, I will create an inventory of my greeting cards and be able to sell them in businesses. I have many requests for coffee mugs, stationary and t-shirt prints that I will be able to create and make available.
If this campaign super exceeds what I'm hoping for then it will allow me to purchase equipment and technology to even further develop Silly Business.
Here are the details on the current perks I am offering. I will update as they sell out.
