Gali Durugappa hails from a village next to Hampi, a historical town in Karnataka, India. He started to learn music by himself and from brief lessons by travellers less than ten years ago, and can now play over a dozen instruments with ease. Be it hang-drums, didgeridoos, flutes, guitars, djembes, or ukuleles, Gali knows how each works! He is set up a small shop in Hampi where he sells musical instruments and encourages visitors to go out of their comfort zone to try out the instruments. Everyone is welcome in this humble abode!

Gali says, "My dream is to build a community centre where music can bring individuals together, a place of happiness, comfort and friendship. That is my only dream"!

Gali has already brought so many together, as easy as pie. He conducts sound healing meditation early in the mornings for anyone who would like to participate. At the end of these sessions, every person leaves with content evident on their face!

However, his tiny shop is set to be shut down by the authorities very soon. And now he needs your help, his friends, fans, visitors, and strangers (who will soon be friends!) to build the community that will be the place you can retreat to.

"Any amount big or small will help me immensely", says Gali, as he tries to keep the spirit of Hampi alive through music every day.
