Redefining Meals
What do you think of when you think of poverty? Most
people think of someone without material possessions, which is true. But when
asked this question, a homeless woman responded by,
“We are like
garbage that everyone wants to get rid of.”
HOPE Projects goal is to bring dignity back to the homeless. We will be partnering with a local organization, Human Service
Project. They’re a nonprofit that run six shelters in Carroll County, Maryland: Cold Weather, Intact Family, Women and Children, Domestic Violence Safe House,
Men’s, and Safe Haven (a mental illness shelter).
We will be transforming the Safe Haven shelter into a fancy
restaurant, complete with professional interior design, entertainment, fine
china, and waiters/waitresses to serve them (rather than a 'buffet style' dining).
Take a look at what Mediocre
Films, a YouTube channel, did; this is our inspiration and vision for these
shelters:
The Need
· 9,216 people in Carroll County are under the poverty line
· The majority of the people under the poverty line are between 18-30
years old
· HSP helped nearly 500
people in 2013

Join the Movement
We need $2,500 in order to make this happen! This restaurant will start off by being open once a month in a shelter at HSP. Then, we will gradually keep it open longer-- bi-weekly, weekly, every other day, to daily. Our contributions for this campaign will cover 3 days of being open which will feed over 75 people. Join
us; become part of the movement that is redefining how meals are served to the
homeless.
