Everything changed for the Freeman family on February 11, 2017 when an MRI showed a large mass on the front right side of Brandon's brain. The doctors and neurosurgeon thought it was an unusual mass and it didn't look like anything they were used to seeing.  They recommended Brandon get a second opinion for treatment at MD Anderson in TX.  Brandon and Audrey made an appointment and arranged to go to TX for a second opinion.  The doctor at MD Anderson gave the Freeman's a lot of information. She explained that the most important thing was to operate to try and remove as much of the tumor as possible and have it sent to pathology. The doctor also pointed out that the tumor has already begun to spread to the other side of his brain. The Freeman's made another appointment with MD Anderson to have the surgery.  The surgery went pretty good- they removed as much as they could of the tumor and Brandon didn't have any major complications. A couple weeks later they went back to MD Anderson in Texas to get the pathology results and come up with a long term treatment plan.  The pathology report showed that the tumor is a Astrocytomas, which is a grade 3 cancerous tumor. The plan right now is to meet with the neuro-oncologist in Atlanta and the radiation therapist and to start radiation within the next 2-3 weeks. They are doing another set of genetic testing on Brandon's tumor to better plan his treatment. They are looking for one specific mutation, this will tell the doctors if it is a more aggressive cancer. If it is the more aggressive form they will do 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy at the same time. Right now the neuro-oncologist is thinking she would like to do 12 rounds of chemotherapy. He will take chemotherapy pills for five days and then get 23 days off and then start the next round. For the next year they will do an MRI every 2 months to monitor the tumor and make sure it is not growing.

Brandon is staying very positive and is ready to fight this with all he has.  Unfortunately the reality is to fight this both Brandon and Audrey will be missing a lot of work and they are adding in a lot of unplanned medical expenses. That's where YOU one in.  The Freeman's really need as much encouragement and support as they can get.  So many people have already been praying and reaching out to them to support them in multiple ways but one huge need is helping Brandon fight this with financial support.  Helping relieve the burden of missing work, travel expenses and extra medical bills will allow the Freeman's to focus on getting healthy.

Please considering making a donation to encourage and support Brandon and his family...
