Summary of GEC Organics Corp.
GEC Organics Corp. was formed in late 2011. We are located on a 70 acre site in Castleberry, population 625, in Southern Alabama. Although we operate in a small farming community, our products and their impact on agriculture and environmental remediation have world wide implications.
Our Campaign is designed to raise the needed capital to expand our business and deliver the message of sustainable practices in farming and the promotion of healthy soil in all countries. The Indiegogo campaign will give us the opportunity to deliver our message globally and make sure we continue on the road to a safe environment for generations to follow.
Your contributions will allow us to achieve maximum results and reach our goals in ways that we would never have imagined and will not be possible without your help. Your assistance will allow us to employ the needed sales agents who will market our soil amendment and demonstrate the benefits of our products to the agricultural community. We will also be able to purchase more raw material to increase our production and acquire additional heavy equipment to expand and grow. Our message of a robust, sustainable agricultural system starts with "good soil". Soil feeds and aerates the plants; it's not just dirt!
What We Need & What You Get
We are seeking initial funding of $250,000 which will give us the much needed money to maintain our facility and continue to reach out to farmers, nurseries, turf producers, farm co-ops and retail outlets who will use our all-natural soil amendment. We call our product; O.N.E™ ; "Organic New Earth". It is our hope that this Campaign will continue to grow beyond our initial funding goal and give us the opportunity reach out to agricultural communities in many countries.
Our USDA approved, odorless compost is made from chicken manure and green waste as well as food waste. We eliminate the need for the agricultural industry to rely on synthetic fertilizer and harmful pesticides. However, what separates us from other organic compost producers is our ability to generate Greenhouse Gas ("GHG") Emission Reduction Credits; known as Carbon Credits.
Every time we convert a ton of waste to our nutritious organic soil amendment; O.N.E.™, we remove many tons of GHG Emissions from the atmosphere.
The funds you provide will increase the volume of this activity and allow us to save our precious farmland. In the process, we eliminate millions of tons GHG Emissions from the environment. This process has given us the chance to offer a unique perk for your help. We are seeking contributions beginning with our 1st Tier Perk of $50.00 and higher multiples of all of our Perks are welcomed.
* For each 1st Tier contribution of $50.00, 10 Carbon Credits will be awarded.
* In the 2nd Tier, this increases to 22 Carbon Credits for our $100 Contributor.
* The 3rd Tier Perk will offer 60 Carbon Credits for a $250.00 Contribution.
These Carbon Credit Certificates are valuable because they can be held for the future or sold on a number of Carbon Credit Exchanges in many countries or directly through the GEC Organics network of buyers. Although we cannot guarantee the selling price of these Certificates, sales have ranged from $5.00 to $10.00 per credit with the market price predicted to rise over time.
This is a unique Perk as it will repay your contribution and hopefully create a profit for you in the future. We will assist you when you wish to sell these Credits through our own network of buyers or with qualified Carbon Brokers worldwide. These Carbon Credits will be issued to us by two of the most highly regarded, non-profit Carbon Credit Registries;
(1) Gold Standard Foundation, Geneva, Switzerland; www.goldstandard.org and
(2) Climate Action Reserve, Los Angeles, California; www.climateactionreserve.org.
Starting in the 1st Quarter of 2016 we will hold specific Carbon Credits in your name or electronically distribute these Carbon Credit Certificates to you as they are issued to us. Each Contributor will be entitled to his or her Credits according to the date of their Contribution. We will also pay a fee to both non-profit registries each time they issue a credit to us. This will assist them in their good work as they endeavor to stop the practices which are negatively impacting our environment.
The next level of Contributors will be given our soil amendment, O.N.E™, as a Perk for those who are able to use this all-natural substitute for synthetic fertilizer. O.N.E™ can be used around your home, garden or farm in any agricultural application. If you are too far from our site to pick-up this product, we will donate it to a local or regional non-profit organization in your name. Schools, parks, Little League fields, religious organizations, Universities and so many more would welcome the chance to use this all-natural material. A tax deduction will be given to you for this Perk.
Finally, our highest level of Contributor at $500 will be given a combination of both of our Perks. For individuals and companies seeking a larger contribution, we will combine 20 yards of O.N.E™ available at our site and we will also send you 100 Carbon Credits which can be re-sold at a number of Carbon Exchanges worldwide. As with our other soil amendment Perk, we recognize that many Contributors may live too far from our location to take advantage of receiving our Compost. We can donate the 20 yards of O.N.E™ to a local charity for their use and provide you with a tax deduction for this portion of the Perk.
All levels of Contributions can be contributed in multiples and additional Perks will be given accordingly. We also welcome our Environmental Contribution of $10.00 (see Perks) as an acknowledgement of your support of healthy soil and the removal of GHG emissions.
The Impact
Your contribution will have a very positive impact on our Project. Our mission is to change the practice of modern day agriculture and to eliminate the problems caused by the overuse of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Please remember that soil is ALIVE and needs to be nourished! Our O.N.E™ will grow plants on "bad earth" so that more food can be produced by our farmers. We will eliminate the need for the land to lay fallow so that it can recover from the overuse of synthetic fertilizers which is today's practice.
Your contribution will help us achieve worldwide coverage and get our message out to the agricultural industry about our Planet's need for good soil.
Risks & Challenges
We have researched the market and the need to protect our food supply. It has taken 4 years to develop our products, O.N.E™ (in solid and liquid form) for healthy soil and the removal of Greenhouse Gas Emissions generated from the disposal of waste. We believe we have overcome the resistance of farmers and the agricultural industry by proving successful crop yields using our O.N.E™.
The reduced need for landfill sites alone has helped us overcome much of the resistance to change by the big agricultural conglomerates! Food waste deposited in landfills produces more harmful emission of Methane Gas than any other waste material. Nevertheless, there are always risks but the Organic Movement is here and there are no longer all the challenges we experienced in the past.
