A Little Bit Of Context
![]()
In November 2010, a friend of mine, Narges K. Ashtari founded the Prishan Foundation. She met a young boy in Mother Theresa's Prem Nevasa Orphanage in Sri Lanka and after seeing him for the first time, they became inseparable. Narges continued volunteering and realised how her love and care for him made a huge difference to the blind child's upbringing.
The boys name was Prishan and in his name and through his inspiration, Prishan Foundation was born.
Since then, she built an orphanage for 50 girls in Rayagada, India, and a home for blind children in Mukundupur. At only 26 years of age, through current on-going projects she is helping thousands of families in India to lead better lives.
The Impact
Narges is currently going through some difficulties in India. She is Iranian by birth and has made India her home relying on ASSIST, an NGO who initially offered her visa but later took away the homes she built, registering it under the NGO's name. Although she continues her work there, they are now trying to cancel her visa to keep her quiet about fighting for her rightful properties.
While she continues her battle, with our help she is able to gain some independence, work towards expanding the foundation, perhaps build another orphanage and continue caring for the kids.
So i'm inviting you to give a darn about this and reach out to help an inspirational woman thriving to make a difference beyond our borders.

Other Ways To Help
If you are unable to contribute, please help me spread the word to others who can.
I initially wanted to come up with the money on my own and realised that I can't do it without the support of people.
