Hello. We are Max Konstanty and Josh Sommer. We are co-authoring a riveting new book called God and Country.

We met at the Purchase Area Walk to Emmaus in September of 2014. We both come from a Christian background. Both of us feel that the United States is in dire need of a strong voice to re-ignite forgotten or misplaced Conservative principals because that voice has been lost. Therefore, this book is being written as the catalyst to re-ignite these principals.

Max was born in Florida and his family, after moving around a bit, settled down north of Bowling Green, Kentucky. After graduation from Crittenden County High School in Marion, Kentucky, Max attended Murray State University where he obtained a Bachelors of Science degree with an emphasis on telecommunications. Max then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Max became involved in the Church of Christ and is thoroughly familiar with their teachings and traditions.

Halfway through obtaining his degree, Max became concerned about the health of his father. He thought about dropping his classes, but his family urged him to finish his degree. Max obtained a Master's Degree in Information Technology in December of 2008 and moved to Paducah, Kentucky the next month where he had been offered a position as a risk management analyst. Max became interested in Conservative politics after listening to Rush Limbaugh's Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.

Josh was born in Paducah, Kentucky and grew up in Massac County, Illinois. Josh attended Joppa High School. After graduation, Josh attended Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Illinois where he obtained an Associates of the Arts Degree. Thereafter, Josh went to Murray State University, where he graduated in December of 2003 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Geography.

After graduation, Josh began working at the City of Oak Grove, Kentucky. Josh then came back to the City of Paducah in November of 2008 when he was offered a planning position. Josh was raised in a Conservative family and has held true to those values. Josh had grown up in the Southern Baptist Church most of his life. He became non-denominational in late 2008.

Max felt the call on his life to write God and Country in 2012. Max had written down many ideas, including the topics for this book. After meeting at the Purchase Area Walk to Emmaus in September of 2014, Max and Josh had a discussion in Calloway County, Kentucky that began the process of this book being written. Topics began to be compiled in October of 2014. Max and Josh began in earnest in the Summer of 2015, contacting a publisher and setting aside at least one day a week to work on God and Country.

Our hope is to raise $4,350.00 in order to pay for publishing and other related expenses. We have decided to publish with WestBow Press, a division of Thomas Nelson and Zondervan, which has a superb track record of publishing Christian authors. WestBow will assist us in getting God and Country in stores around the World and with an online presence in retailers such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Our agreement with them will account for publishing the book in both tangible and digital format. Together, with your help, we can begin the process of restoring Conservatism and help guide this nation back to our Christian roots.

Both of us have strong Christian backgrounds to draw from, have a deep sense of patriotism and are deeply concerned about the direction of America. This nation has turned against the Lord and our moral compass has been denigrated. America has become a nation where anything goes, from homosexual marriage to rampant abortion to selling baby parts to actively prosecuting and jailing Christians. We feel there is a majority of Americans ready to rise up and take our country back, both on our knees and at the ballot box. We know that America can be saved! Our hope is that Americans, coast to coast and north to south, will read God and Country and, through our common bond of patriotism and God-instilled values, rise up as one people.

Sadly, in the event we do not reach our goal of $4,350.00, we will not be able to purchase the package of our choice with WestBow, however; it is our intent to get this book published. We will then chose an alternate, less-expensive package to get God and Country published in some format.

God and Country is important to us because we see it not as just a conservative handbook, but as a catalyst for a Christian revolution. We hope that God and Country becomes a household name around the World, rooted in Christian love as Jesus himself showed. Neither of us wish to take credit for any positive impacts this book has, but rather give glory to God and kudos to hard-working Americans that have so selflessly sacrificed to help fund this book and get it off the ground.

This book will stand as justification for Christian principals, however; it only stands as opinion or argument for non-believers that will not fully understand the claims made, as some knowledge of the word is derived only through faith. We believe in some basic tenants of what God and Country is based on:

  1. We believe God and Country to be Holy Spirit guided.

  2. It is intended to show love, mercy and compassion for people while making them aware how the enemy is using the powers that be to come against God the Father.

  3. God and Country is Biblically-based and exercises a Christian world-view.

  4. God and Country will provide a foundation and blue print to return America back to our moral, ethical and God-given principals.

  5. We do not condemn anyone or any group in this book, as we realize our struggle is with principalities and powers, not against flesh and blood.

  6. We are fully aware of our society's moral decay and intend to combat it forcefully through God and Country and with the power of prayer.

  7. We are aware, and believe, this society is in the end times. Jesus said in Revelation that the Saints would war against the beast. We hope that God and Country serves to prepare spiritual warriors.

  8. We sincerely hope that salvation follows to many who read God and Country as well as showing them how to take a stand against the tyranny that has befallen us.

  9. God and Country is intended to empower people and educate them how to show love through Jesus Christ. We hope to see an army of Christians that love people in word and deed and are steadfast when society tries to oppress and force unjust laws upon the silent majority.

  10. We know Jesus Christ is coming back. Time is of the essence to publish God and Country. Our hope is that all Christians will be prepared for His return.

Both of us have spent countless hours in prayer for this book. We have sought the Holy Spirit, which has helped and qualified us, as with any Christian, to write God and Country. Much time has been taken to analyze and use current events to illustrate how Americans have, by-and-large, become pacifists that need to have a greater revelation of God and his love. Thereby, through that love, to be a force for good to encourage people and show love how God loves. We intent to use our right, through this representative Government, to be heard.

The main hurdle we face is monetary, as we hope to publish in as many formats as possible in order to reach as many people as possible. Therefore, with your help, we hope to overcome this hurdle. Also, many people skeptical of Christianity say that the Bible is polarizing which serves to divide people. God and Country is not meant to divide, but to unite all people transcending race, culture, age, wealth, gender, politics and any other spectrum of humanity.

In conclusion, we sincerely hope and ask for your help in getting this book published. For everyone that donates $30 or more, we will give you an honorable mention in God and Country as an appendix! We understand that some people may wish to donate anonymously. Knowing that people have found solace, direction and steadfastness in this book will bless us greater than we could ever imagine. We hope this book serves to address both the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. Both of us offer sincere blessings to the reader of this plea and hope you will consider helping us publish God and Country!

God Bless.
