We are building an "Eco-Friendly Server Farm" powered by Green and Clean energy to meet :
- High computing efficiency that can serve all kinds of computation needs
- Total cost should be low as possible
- Server Farm should be environment friendly
The Idea of having Green Computing Farm actually originated when we realized the needs of computational powers in various sectors.
Primarily considering the image processing needs of Medical Institutes, which most institutions are deprived of mainly due to high financial and technical costs involved with Server Farms. If computational help is provided to such institutions there can be better health service available to the community.
Same is with various R&D projects as they can neither afford having their own Computing Farm nor can afford to pay high rate of computation available at Public Server farms.
Keeping the basic objectives at place, we planned The Green Computing Farm infrastructure that would utilize clean and renewable energy resources.
One of the chief consumables at Server Farm is Electrical Energy for obvious reasons; and the traditional power source is Expensive and mostly generated utilizing now-renewable natural resources (coal/gas/petroleum/etc) thereby adding toll to our Environment.
To counter this challenge the Server Farm will be powered by Eco-friendly energy source derived from Bio-Gas and Solar Energy.
A Server farm can be used for wide variety of applications such as :
• Image and Video processing
• Computational Biology and Chemistry
• Fluid dynamics simulation
• CT image reconstruction
• Seismic analysis
• Ray tracing
• BIG data processing - Data Mining, Map-Reduce & Analytics
• 3D Model rendering
• and much more...
It looks like your project is a combination of Computing farm + Dairy farm, Who's on your team ?

Details of the Complex -

Do you have land required for all this ?
We have 10 acre of land, that we own, reserved for this project. Initial phase of this project will occupy only 5 acres of land. This is where we will build our Green Computing Farm -

From where will you get that much buffalo dung ?
We will be purchasing some buffaloes for our dairy farm, we have our own budget for that. Also we will be collecting buffalo dung from nearby villages and feeding all that into our digesters.
The manure coming out from the digesters will be distributed to the farmers and used for growing healthy food.
What about the water needed for the animals in this project ?
There
are two water canals near the location of our server farm so there is
more than enough water available to us. But water is a scarce resource,
so we will be designing buildings such that we harvest rain water as
much as possible.
How does this project benefits to community ?
A typical CPU in a computer never runs at it's full potential all the time. In fact it's usage is only 4-5% (maximum) 99% of the time. So we will also be not able to use 100% computing power that we will get from our servers to it's full potential all the time.
That's why to maximize the efficiency of our server farm we will be providing our computing power free of cost for medical research.
We will ensure that our servers does not sit idle doing nothing. They will be providing their computing power to medical institutes that need it the most.
The computational capability of the servers is expected to be enormous so a part of it would be utilized for the good of the community, mostly by Medical Institutes and other R&D programs.
In developing countries the most scarce resource is 'quality education'.

Since we will also be producing dairy products from the dairy farm and selling it to the market. We will be using that money to open a school for the nearby village children and provide computer education free of cost.
How long it will take to get the server machines up and running ?
It will take 10 months to get everything up and running.
- Month 1 will be used for resource planning.
- Month 2-7 (6 months) will be consumed in construction work.
- Month 8 will be used for server installation & configuration.
- Month 9 Alpha testing
- Month 10 Beta launch
What are technical specs of each server machine ?
All our servers will be powered by LINUX.
That server machine would be costly, how does it fit in your budget ?
Each server machine will be built using commodity hardware to keep the costs minimum.
Most of the server machines will be built with the funds we already have.
What about perks ?
We will be providing our server machines at cheapest rates to all the contributors on IndieGoGo.
Typical rates in the market for such a server will cost you more than $2 per hour. Here's your chance to contribute and get yourself the cheapest hours on High Performance servers.
***Note : There is NO expiry date for the computing time you get. Use it when you need it the most.

Stretch goals
If we reach $400,000 -
- 5 additional Server machines will be added
- Larger cooling unit for server room will be installed, so we won't have to purchase when we expand.
If we reach $500,000 -
- 20 additional Server machines.
If we reach $1,000,000
- 50 additional Server machines.
- Construction of free school will be started along with the server farm.
You talk about being Eco-friendly, but there is not a single tree in your Model ?
There will be plenty of trees in the real world complex. We removed trees from the 3D model to make it clear and easy to understand. Also to reduce the rendering time.
What happens if you don't reach your funding goal ?
If we don't reach our funding goal with IndieGoGo Campaign, the funds raised will be used for project development with less number of servers and solar panels installed in the initial phase.
It will take us more time to add more server machines to the computing-farm if we don't reach our funding goal. Small or large contribution, each one counts.
