A couple of months ago, I was looking at my collection and thought : “Wow, in less than two years, I have managed to build a collection this large. I wonder how big would the collection of a fan who's been doing it for 5,10,15 years be?!”

One thing led to another and I decided to combine my 2 passions and make a movie out of it! My goal however, is to not make a documentary about The Evil Dead itself but to make a documentary about you, the fans, the Deadites! I think that if you are like me, you will love this project because what we want to do here is a documentary for the fans with the fans.

As we said, the first goal is to make a documentary about the fans with the fans. We are not here to try to be selected at the Cannes Film Festival or to get Hollywood's attention. We are not doing this hoping to become famous. We think the Deadites are a big and strong family and making this documentary will allow us to reach out to each other. As a fan, I want to know you and I want to meet you. I want to share my collection and to discover yours. This film is not just for collectors, it's for all the Evil Dead fans in general who make the Evil Dead trilogy the classics they are today.

I have personally backed a dozen projects over the years, from feature films to short films, each time putting my shoulder to the wheel and giving what I could. 15, 25, 35 and even $100. Why am I doing it ? Because I believe that in 2013, this is the way to get the films you want to see made.

When I first decided to start this kind of campaign, I wanted it to be more than just a usual campaign. Badges, T-Shirts, posters and DVDs are the usual way to go and that is fine... most of the time. But what else could I bring to the table? Something new, something exclusive...and at that moment it hit me! I quickly sent an email about the project to a friend of mine that you might know. His name is Tom Sullivan. Tom has agreed to become an associate producer on the project and to offer some prints as perks. Things were looking good! And then suddenly, Danny Hicks (Evil Dead 2) did the same thing. And finally, Patricia Tallman and Timothy Quill from Army of Darkness, also jumped in.

Of all the art forms movies are, sadly, the most expensive to produce. All things considered, we believe that this whole project could be undertaken with the considerable sum of 30,000$.

People might think that this is a huge amount but the documentary we're trying to make will involve a lot of travel and hotel expenses. We are already planning trips to locations such as Montreal, (Canada), New York (USA), Ohio (USA), Texas, (USA), Vancouver (Canada) ,Olympia (USA), Las Vegas (USA), United Kingdom and Australia, but with the right help and the right fans, who knows where we might end up? France? Japan? Tahiti?

As you probably know, there are Deadites everywhere! In the coming year, we are expecting to meet the biggest Deadites out there. Raising more money means we have more opportunities to go to them and will raise the quality of the film to new heights. It will give everyone the opportunity to discover some amazing people and memorabilia from The Evil Dead franchise. In short: more money = a better film.
