Who We Are

We are a group of four students who attend the University of Tennessee and are trying to raise a minimum of $2,500 to help Horse Haven of Tennessee feed their horses this winter. Horse Haven is a local non-profit organization that has been helping rehabilitate abused and neglected horses since 1999. The organization as a whole provides and takes care of a total of sixty plus horses. We are trying to raise the money to help Horse Haven provide enough hay to these horses for five months during the winter.

How Your Money Helps

The money that we are raising will help buy hay to feed the horses for five months during the winter. Horse Haven has said they are in need of filling up their hay stock, which has all but run out over the course of the past few months. The money that you donate will restock their supply and get this organization and their horses through the approaching winter months.

Horse Haven has several horses they have to provide food for and we want to help them by raising a portion of the funds they require. Every dollar that you donate will be given to the organization to help feed these abused and neglected horses so they can grow strong enough to be adopted to a loving new home.

Many of the horses that are brought to Horse Haven are starving because their previous owners did not provide the necessary care to keep them healthy. Plus, quite a few have much more serious medical issues when taken in by this organization. Horse Haven is a kind, loving, and safe environment for these abused and neglected horses to recuperate. The ultimate goal is to have these sweet creatures adopted to loving homes. Therefore, by donating to our cause and helping us provide hay to Horse Haven,  you will be helping to care for these helpless animals.

There are a few ways that we would like to show our gratitude for your donation to our campaign!

For a $10 donation, you will receive a personalized end of the week shout-out on our social media site! A $20 donation will get you a shout-out on social media and a personalized hand-written thank-you note! For a $50 donation, you will receive a shout-out on social media, a handwritten thank-you note, and a Horse Haven magnet!

How Will Donating Help the Community?

Horse Haven started out as a very small organization that just wanted to make a small impact on the community. While they still have a small, grassroots staff, Horse Haven has grown to care for more than 900 horses in the sixteen years it has been in operation. Horse Haven is putting all of their efforts into saving defenseless horses in the community.

By donating to our campaign, you will be helping feed the horses so they can stay on the right track to recuperate and remain healthy during the harsh winter months. This will better the community because some if its furry residents will be kept warm and their bellies full for the cold months to come.
