Heart Transplant-Medical Bill Aftermath
My mom is the most generous person I've ever met in my life. After 5 long years of battling congestive heart failure due to a random accident, she received a new heart. There were several times when we thought we might lose her forever, but she hung on, because she knew that she wasn't finished spreading her love and kindness.
The first six months post-transplant were even more difficult than we could have imagined, but she is a fighter. After several hospitalizations and spending multiple holidays in the ICU, we have my mom back, and me and my brothers could not be more grateful. She already started volunteering again at her children's ministry, even though she had to wear a mask at first. She didn't care. She never has, and that is why I love her to no end.
But for a family that lives paycheck to paycheck, a heart transplant is no joke. Medical bills came flooding in, and it is just too much to bear alone. I am normally very lighthearted, and rarely like to talk about things that pull at heartstrings (no pun intended), but this lady deserves it. She deserves everything.
My mom will pull through this as she always does, but she does need a little help. She is a fighter, a giver, a writer, a lover, a peacemaker, a mother, a beautiful example of what a person can be in spite of this world. Thank you for anything. Anything will help.
