The Sick Bay is a unique place to come and chill out, socialise and make new friends. Set in a converted textiles mill in Ancoats, Manchester we provide a cosy and inviting space, open to everyone, to come and hangout with us and everyone else.
Free refreshments such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milkshake, cereal, fresh cakes, fresh popcorn and sweets are available all day, every day so come in and help yourself. Grab a seat on the leather sofas, rocking chair or beanbags and for as long as you like kick back, relax and chill out with your new found friends.
Plenty of games to choose from including a fantastic "Cops & Robbers" Scalextric race track hanging from a solid beech hand carved table hanging from the ceiling, which doubles up as a coffee or games table. Grab a book, do a jigsaw, build a model or learn to hula-hoop!
The Sick Bay is decorated with dozens of fantastic tattoo-style original paintings and prints and all sorts of other goodies such as jewellery, entomology, antlers, clothes and accessories which are all for sale and money raised from these goes straight back into funding the facility, although there's no obligation to buy whatsoever.
The aim is to provide a warm welcome and friendly stay in our little community hub so you can go away feeling relaxed and inspired having spent time away from the "always on" smartphones and tablets we seem to be solely communicating with these days!
Did I mention we have our own popcorn machine for fresh hot popcorn any time?
