Help Tony Briggs Kick Cancers A$$
My husband, Tony Briggs the punk rock connoisseur, promoter, and lead signer of No Excuse band based in Lexington, KY was diagnosed in mid-October 2015 with multiple myeloma and stage 3 kidney disease. As a Buddhist, Tony has greeted his illness with great positivity and has helped his friends and family find peace. Tony is huge fan of UK basketball men's and women's team. As a family, we are fortunate he is being treated by UK's finest at the Markey Cancer Center. GO BIG BLUE!
The chemotherapy is helping to fight the cancer. We are grateful he has made great strides and the treatments are working. However, he hovering at 18% kidney function and it is continuing to decrease. It is possible that dialysis is in the near future. In addition, due to the cancer and reactions to treatments he has developed a debilitating myopathies in his hands and feet. He is unable to sing or work, and now requires round the clock care. We cannot afford in-home health care, so I've been undertaking his full care.
We have reduced our expenses to the bare minimum to only $1200 per month. We are getting some support through local programs which helps with food and some utilities. The treatment cycle for the cancer is 2 years and we have exhausted our finances to sustain us. We are hopeful for a full recovery and ask for your support.
We don't have much to offer in terms of incentives, but one thing we are not short on is love, and whether or not you can donate today or not we are sending love your way. If you can donate today, for a better day for me and Tony tomorrow. A day with a little less stress and little more joy because of you.
Thank you for your gift of respect just by reading our story,
Kelli Briggs (wife) & Sarah Phillips (daughter)
Multiple myeloma is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. Plasma cells help you fight infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs. It causes cancer cells to accumulate in the bone marrow, where they crowd out healthy blood cells. Rather than produce helpful antibodies, the cancer cells produce abnormal proteins that can cause kidney problems. For more information on Multiple myeloma click the link.
