UPDATE - CHRISTMAS DAY:
We can't believe how successful this fundraiser has been in such a short amount of time, and still donations keep coming in. The "Safe Haven" project that is in place for next year is huge and we are very excited that we have such an amazing start for this.
Additional fundraisers were scheduled for next year, but with this gigantic success, we will launch our next fundraiser right after Christmas, so we can speed up the building process of our rescue centre even more.
Please feel free to keep donating towards our current fundraiser, as all donations are extremely helpful.
Thanks again so much, and have a wonderful Christmas!
The Tiga Foundation has one main goal on the island of Bali: to end the suffering of street dogs. This can be done through a number of ways, the main being; vaccination, sterilisation and education.
However, as much as we try to vaccinate, sterilise and educate, there are still a lot of dogs suffering on the streets. This with risks of being culled, snatched up for the dog meat trade, or not surviving the traffic in Bali.
The Tiga Foundation is embarking on a new project, the Tiga Safe Haven a well managed small rescue centre for the Bali street dog. We are currently looking after several street dogs already at our rescue centre, but we are now looking to build a bigger centre in order to help the growing number of street dogs in Bali who are being abused and starved.
The Tiga Safe Haven is a place for street dogs where they can seek refuge until they are strong and healthy enough to be adopted out to loving people. The dogs will be monitored by a vet, rehabilitated and most importantly, shown love.
The Tiga Foundation already has the money together to buy the land. This is being paid from our own funds. After this, The Tiga Safe Haven is operated largely by donations and we really need your help to start building our kennels. We are aiming to build ten kennels by February 2017 which will be able to keep 20 Bali street dogs happy and healthy. One kennel will cost $100 USD or 90 EUR and construction of the kennels will be completed by April 2017 (fingers crossed, it is Bali after all ;)).
The kennels will be built as 'open' kennels, meaning that dogs can choose to sleep there if they want to, but are never actually closed up in their kennel. It's to give them their own safe spot outside the running and play area.
Any donations, no matter how big or small would greatly be appreciated and we are excited to welcome you all to follow the Tiga Foundation on this new journey!
Tiga says: Thanks!!
