Help Us Make a Forest

Welcome to "Rainha da Floresta". We purchased this land in December 2020 to begin a project of environmental recuperation here in Brazil's cerrado, the world's most biodiverse savannah. Since then, we've spent our weekends and holidays trying to rebuild this ecosystem by planting trees and shrubs, and making small hydrological interventions. We're asking for your help to continue!

So far we've planted over 500 native seedlings (of over 40 different species), and this rainy season our goal is to plant 500 more. For every $5 donation, we will plant a tree in our dense consortium of biodiverse plants. Our hope is that within 10 years this area will have grown into a complex ecosystem capable of sustaining diverse animal life, and replenishing the supply of groundwater.

We will use the money raised to help purchase and and install a 10,000 Liter polypropylene water tank for collecting rainwater to irrigate the more thirsty plants during the dry season (May - September). Like this, we can plant more and more, while maintaining a high rate of survival through the dry season.
