My Idea

Hi! My name is Ash and I am looking to create a business that focuses on giving back to those in need. I have always been very crafty, always into DIY and home projects. I hold a degree in Fine Art and Photography and thrive when I get the opportunity to be creative and let my mind go to work! 

I am in the process of building up stock in what will hopefully be a successful bath and soap business. I want to focus on making quality, all natural products that can used everyday and given as gifts to loved ones. There will be a multitude of products, with the main focus being on artisan and themed soaps, as well as bath bombs, lotions, balms, scrubs and bath salts etc. 

What makes this business different? Well, I'm glad you asked. There will be a line of "Hope Soaps", which will consist of themed and specialty soaps and products that will make a donation to a related organization or charity with every purchase made. 

For example: A bar of pink soap with the Breast Cancer ribbon embedded in it, will donate x amount to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. 

or

A rainbow colored bar of soap will donate x amount to the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Campaign. 

The amount to be donated is still to be determined as I need to work out the cost to make each item and what I'll be selling it for, but I estimate that it will be $1-$2 per item donated. I want to create a product that consumers can feel good about purchasing, both because the product is all natural, and good for them, but also because it provides them the opportunity to support a charity that they care about!

I estimate the start up costs to be around $1000. That will cover:

-website building costs

-start up supplies including soap bases, fragrances, molds, colorings etc

-payment processing start up costs
