The Basic Idea.

The goal of this fundraiser is to get a photographic book published. I plan to meet with everyone from the industry, the girls, the bouncers, the owners, the dj's, and anyone else involved in the business, and use pictures and stories to create a photographic narrative that is interesting, fun, and compelling for the readers.

Before We Get Into The Details!

I want to acknowledge that I know that this seems like a ridiculous idea, but I also think it's a good idea, an idea that I believe in, and one I will do regardless if this project gets funded or not. I believe there will be a lot of people who say I am just trying to get funded to go to strip clubs and have fun, but I would hope that those people have yet to see my work, and have yet to see what I do. 

I am fascinated by strippers. I find it extremely interesting when someones is so attractive they can command money for their attention based solely on how they look, and that it then can become their job. It's a very foreign lifestyle and mindset to my own, and I find it confusing and fun to think about. This book is sort of going to be my exploration of trying to understand that for myself. And out of that I'm hoping some wonderful pictures and stories come to life. I hope you understand that that is my main agenda, to produce work or art or material or whatever the fuck you want to call it, that moves you, and that connects with you.

That being said, there really is no set game plan for the material that will go into the book, I'm not trying to save them, I'm not trying to make them look good or look bad, I'm not trying to get them naked and shoot a book of porn, I'm just trying discover interesting stories and people and go where that takes me. To be honest this idea spawned from my relationships with strippers in the past. Which has been some of the most mind bending and fascinating points in my life. These woman are at times insanely unique, complicated, loving, interesting human beings, and their story needs to be told, because meeting them to me has been both beautiful and valuable for who I am today. 

I want to share that feeling with you in my pictures

I want you to trust me that I can do this, and that I can create something you will be proud to own and have a part of your life.

I will do it by myself if I have to, but it will be so much better if you join in this crazy adventure with me.

OK now that you have the gist! Why I need money, and what you get for funding me!

The main goal of this project is two things. 

•  To get a book published and produce merchandise for funders. There will be a large 13x11 hardcover image wrap version of the book, and a smaller 7x7 softcover version. I am hoping to get a publisher to do this, but will most likely end up self publishing, which is costly and time consuming. I project this will take 50% or even more of the funds. In addition to the book we will be printing shirts, cell phone covers, stickers, key chains, coffee mugs, and other cool stuff you guys get for donating. This will be the bulk of the cost for this project, which I will not even be able to have made if we don't get funded.

• To launch isupportstrippers.com which will be a portal for this book, and any information one could possibly want on the stripper industry. Unbiased and informational on both sides of the story. For people wanting to get in, for people wanting to get out, for girls, guys, bouncers, owners, and everything and anything we can think of that goes into the business. At first it will be small and simple, but I hope with some time it will grow into something really unique and interesting for the stripper community, or just for your average person who is curious about this world.
