Story of My Book
Innovator’s Clinic examines how healthcare’s most fearless innovators are redesigning the future of healthcare, through the use of technology and unique business models. In this book, I showcase the stories of venture founders and share wisdom from healthcare experts to show how entrepreneurs are changing the healthcare industry in the United States.
My name is Isayah Henry, and I am the author of
Innovator’s Clinic. I wrote this book for two reasons. First, I wanted to map the complexities of Entrepreneurship in Healthcare. Secondly, I wanted to inspire those in the health industry to realize that there is room for innovation.
My hope is that, in reading this book, you will discover the exciting future in store for American healthcare. I hope to instill in you the same sort of passion and excitement that I have for Healthcare Innovation. Ultimately, I want you to see this book as a tool to help you demystify industry changes and how you can play a role in these changes.
In this book, you will learn about the entrepreneurial journey in healthcare and what those who are interested in entrepreneurship need to be aware of. You'll hear stories such as:
- Dr. Erica Barnell, Founder of Geneoscopy who leveraged her research as a medical student to build a novel approach for colon cancer diagnostic solutions
- Dr. Oliver Kharraz, Founder of Zoc Doc who sought to improve the patient experience and minimize physician time waste by building one of the first appointment booking platforms in the late 2000s
- Kyle Rand, founder of Rendever who is using virtual reality to bring exciting, new experiences to residents of elderly care facilities to combat the symptoms of social isolation
You will love this book if you find business success stories like “The Social Network” exciting, if you are interested in the future of healthcare services, or if you're an aspiring entrepreneur.
Innovator's Clinic is a nonfiction book that speaks to students and young professionals who want to look at healthcare and entrepreneurship in a new way.
The Book - Innovator’s Clinic
The book is written in 3 parts.
Part 1 contains chapters 1-2. In this part, you will be introduced to 3 major pathways to innovation in healthcare: New Technology, Improvements to The Customer Experience, and Unique Business Models. Here, you will learn the mechanisms by which innovators are designing the future of healthcare. For example, you will meet Alex Dahmani, founder of QuiO, a health technology company that builds auto-injectors that report how effective patients administer at-home medications.
Part 2 contains chapters 3-11. In this part, you will meet several entrepreneurs as they navigate the complicated business dynamics of healthcare. Among many others, I tell my favorite story of healthcare industry success. Keller Rinaudo breaks down regulatory barriers with the undeniable value of drone-based healthcare supply delivery.
Part 3 contains chapters 12-15. In this last part, we demystify the nitty-gritty of healthcare entrepreneurship. You will visit venture founders, economists, politicians, and other experts to understand what successful entrepreneurs are mindful of from day-1. Specifically, I outline solutions to major obstacles like venture funding, FDA approval, partner building, and leveraging start-up accelerators.

Risks & Challenges
The biggest challenge with publishing a book is delivering the finished book to the backer, specifically my mailing of the book to you. I have eliminated this risk by including the cost of mailing and shipping the signed copies into each pre-order tier.
The risk of delivering the pre-sale copies of my book is contingent on the publisher we use. I will be working closely with New Degree Press to make sure we ship the pre-order rewards to you as early as possible. We will keep all pre-sale backers up-to-date as to when my book will publish. You will know when the copies of my book you pre-ordered are expected to ship.
