Why Build KADIMA?
Friends and colleagues have been asking me “why are you doing this Susan”? Why would you care about this concept so much?
What I shared in the video is that I am passionate and totally committed to change. It’s our future and change is what has brought us to this point in 2017, where often our cell phones have become one of our most necessary tools. Twenty years ago, it was our laptop. I have no idea where we will be in 2037.
Yet as passionate that I am about change I am equally committed to Canada. A place I’ve called home for 50 years this year. As a young girl, when my family immigrated from the former Yugoslavia (with a short stay in Germany), I watched my parents and their friends start business ventures. I grew to appreciate the gift of being able to try and create something. It’s why I started a business in my late 20s. What I’ve learned is the importance of never giving up and having an attitude that there is always a way to figure things out whenever we have a will. This is what I believe and who I am.
I wouldn’t be here talking to you if I hadn’t had other people who believed in me. And I am committed to paying this forward.
As Canadians, we have an incredible opportunity, as a country, to lead the world. KADIMA is for all of us who have dreams – whether as an immigrant, a solopreneur, an entrepreneur, or a person working in an organization who can see a gap and a way to try and change things for the better.
Anyone is an innovator and I want to see others succeed. This, at its core, is the premise of KADIMA; to do that we need to come together and build on the expertise of research, organizations, and government. Together and through commercialisation of our ideas we can build Canada for the next 150 years and we will be known as a country where everyone has a chance to dream, explore, and risk.
Please join us on this journey to create a knowledge hub and conference in Windsor-Essex, Ontario in 2018. When we all risk a little, we can collectively accomplish more than we can imagine.

Here’s Where You Come In
Bootstrapping KADIMA got us this far. Now we need your help to raise $25,000 CAD to help us unlock the true potential of this Project. We need 2,500 backers to donate $10 CAD.
Current Tally
July 14: 2,468 Backers to go
We’ve divided our fund raising efforts into two phases. This crowdfunding campaign is Phase One. Your contribution to this campaign will help us off-set some of the start-up costs (brand & website design and social media support); purchase of crowdfunding perks not donated; our launch event in Windsor-Essex Corridor (Fall 2017); and towards the development of our sponsorship campaign to be used in Phase Two of our fund raising efforts.

Risks and Challenges
It’s hard to introduce innovation safely. This is the biggest risk and greatest challenge we foresee. To evolve an emerging approach to accelerate innovation and activate commercialisation, requires a level of risk to experiment with what we know and more importantly to learn to be more comfortable with what we don’t know we don’t know.
I believe we’re in a new space of ongoing business and world discovery that will forever change how we live, work and play. And I want to contribute, in some small way, to this evolution and new world we’re creating. At our core, we are all explorers and our sustainability depends on us to keep moving…forward.
If by chance we don't reach our fund raising goal, funds that are raised will go towards the development and production of the sponsorship campaign to build awareness for KADIMA and inspire potential backers.
