What is "Wa"? 
Wa (和) is a Japanese cultural concept usually translated into English as "team harmony", some say it is one of the most fundamental concepts of Japan's moral system. The concept of Wa is fundamental in the practice of Kendo. 

It implies a peaceful unity and conformity within a group, in which members prefer the continuation of a harmonious community over their personal interests.

Kendo, the Japanese "way of the sword", is a very powerful visual medium.

Kendo is steeped in history and tradition and is a joy to watch, the world championship team events are exciting to say the least. It takes years of dedication and training to perform at this level. 

The All Japan Kendo Federation (AJKF) estimates that the number of "kendoka" in Japan is 1.66 million, with over 6 million practitioners worldwide, 

We believe this video project will help promote the practice of Kendo globally.

We strongly believe this video project will contribute to the development of culture and promote peace and prosperity among all people.

Kendo practitioners all around the world already experience and foster a sense of "Wa", a peaceful unity within the global Kendo community, this helps kendo to grow. The kendo community around the world is one of peace and friendships.
