SO WHAT'S LIBRA COFFEE DOING?
Libra Coffee is launching an online coffee subscription service with an important social mission: provide clean drinking water to the communities where our coffee beans are sourced. We are obsessive about roasting the best coffee in the world and delivering your special beans straight to your doorstep. Also, we are dedicated to helping our supply chain stay healthy and strong through our clean water initiative.

WHY WATER?
In countries like Ethiopia - the origin of coffee and home to some of the best coffee in the world - about 40% of the population doesn't have safe water to drink.
And what makes the water so unsafe? Lets look at Central America, where during the dry season, people must drink from contaminated water sources. Communities often drink from the same water source as they wash their clothes, take baths and even throw their trash. Contaminated water often leads to ecoli poisoning and disease. E-coli makes national headlines in the U.S. for contamination at Chipotle, but goes unnoticed in poverty-stricken countries every day.
This is where Libra Coffee comes in. With every bag of coffee purchased, two people will gain access to clean drinking water for 5 years. We do this by donating a portion of every sale to provide these communities with extra-strength water filters that eliminate 99.99% of all harmful bacteria. Each water filter lasts a minimum of five years, and can support at least 100 peoples' clean drinking water needs.
OK, I'M GETTING INTERESTED... MORE ABOUT LIBRA.
Hi, my name is Eric Medina, and I'm the founder of Libra Coffee. I am so passionate about coffee that I have a Master's Degree from Italy in the Science & Economy of Coffee. This education not only provides me the know-how to roast and prepare quality coffee, but also has helped me establish close relationships with farmers all over the world. These connections allow me to effectively source traceable and ethical coffee beans while providing a distribution channel for getting water filters to farming communities that need them most. In 2015, I acquired a roasting facility in Oceanside, California, where I have been experimenting and perfecting my roasting technique.
