Short Summary
Hey Everybody!
My name is Sean Small and I am a director/writer/actor based out of Los Angeles. I have been directing, acting in, and writing content for the past 12 years. I have directed shorts and web series that have been highly successful in the film circuit, won best actor in the LA Live Film Festival last year, and am currently shopping around various screenplays as we speak.
But, let's get to the reason why you are all here. This campaign was set up for the short Lost, Not Forgotten, a passion project I have been wanting to shoot for years. I know what you're thinking, why is this a passion project? Well, there was a seminal moment in my life that I thought could have led me down two very different paths. This moment was when my biological father decided to not be a part of my life. With the help of a strong single mother and an amazing support system along the way, I came out to be (at least I think) somewhat normal. This script is the other path I could have easily gone down.
With your contributions you would help in creating a film that will not only put forth an amazing story, but a true one that hopefully many can resonate with and never feel alone in the daily struggle that comes with this abandonment. This is the reason I produce. My main purpose is to get stories out there that connect and impact people that unfortunately are going through the same thing.
What We Need & What You Get
In order to create great content, we need great people! Film is a collaborative art, and in that regard I want to make sure everyone is the best of the best when it comes to cast and crew. With that said, we are trying to raise $10,000 in order to produce, shoot, edit, complete, and circulate this short through the film circuit after completion!
First, we want to pay our amazing cast and crew members. The Producers are taking no cut of this budget, only the people that will be working within the film.
Second, we will be paying for things like locations, production design, props, wardrobe, crafty, lunch (to feed the amazing crew and cast), and any miscellaneous things necessary to create the best quality film we can.
Lastly, once the film has been edited and the finishing touches have been added, we will use the remaining funds to apply to various film festivals in order to get this film seen by anyone and everyone! Hopefully this will bring either a distribution deal, or a possibility of expanding the short into a feature length film that will hit the big screen!
The thing we wanted to do with our campaign was give everyone the opportunity to benefit from the perks we are giving. For the highest contributors, we are promising to cut them in on any possible profits that come in the future. So when we make money on this, you would too! Our other exciting perks include an onset prop of your choosing, signed posters and shooting scripts, a digital screener, a social media shout out, and a Thank You in the credits!
