What is the Matchmaker Café story?

• I’m Nancy Slotnick and this is my comeback story.
• Many moons ago, before online dating existed, I founded and ran a café that had a dating service for our customers.  All the dates happened there and we made hundreds of marriages.
• I have been trying to re-invent the real dating-café experience and could never get up the capital.  Now I got a lucky break with a public plaza that NYCEDC has chosen me to set up as Matchmaker Café this summer.  Your donations can help me make it great, and to springboard to more Matchmaker Cafés in the future.

What We Need & What You Get

• Our goal on is $12,500.  But our real goal is to reach 200% of our goal.
• There are a lot of ways you can make Matchmaker Café your own, either by sponsoring your own table or by letting us find you a date.  If you’re not single this is a great gift for a single friend.
• This café is happening no matter what.  But your donations will make it really cool and fun and newsworthy. 

The Impact

• It’s really good karma to help people find love.  Online dating is not fun.  Everyone always wants to know where to go to meet people.  Here it is!
• I did this business before and I know that it can work again if I have the chance to make it happen.
• I love helping people with their lovelives and I practice what I preach.  I don’t want to Facebook chat with my clients.  I want to meet them, hear their story and make the dates happen!
