Founded in 1974, Mee-Ow is Northwestern University's premiere short-form comedy group combining sketch, improv, and rock n' roll. A great number of Mee-Ow alumni have gone to perform and teach improv at many of the country's top improv venues.
This campaign is a fundraising effort in the hopes of being able to put on many more shows in the years to come. The funds you donate will go directly back into the Mee-Ow improv group to help keep the troupe alive and thriving both on, and off, Northwestern campus.
Mee-Ow is a satellite group of Arts Alliance, the oldest and largest student arts group at Northwestern University, a school renowned for its breadth of undergraduate-produced programming. Founded by a collection of groups looking to share space, Arts Alliance has grown to become one of the largest student arts organizations in the country. Its annual season consists of three mainstage productions and the management of three Satellite groups: Thunk A Cappella, Graffiti Dancers, and Mee-Ow Improv & Sketch Comedy. The Arts Alliance Executive Board consists of thirteen members from all types of educational backgrounds committed to bringing accessible, entertaining theatrical experiences to the Northwestern and Evanston communities.
Your donation would be instrumental in helping us make this show happen, and we couldn't achieve this without your help. Although we are affiliated with Northwestern University and Arts Alliance, this production is entirely student run, which means that we are responsible for raising the funds to build our set, rent our lights, buy costumes and props, and more.
Here are some of the ways your donation would help us:
Buying lumber, furniture, paint, and more to build the set that will serve as the world of the play
Making and buying period-specific costumes for our cast to wear
Obtaining props from thrift stores, rental markets, supermarkets, or wherever else
Renting lighting and sound equipment as well as projection equipment
Helping us advertise the show so our message can reach as many people as possible
…and more!
