Five teens take on H.P. Lovecraft’s monsters and their small-town high school … They’re just not sure which is worse.
Miskatonic High is an ongoing series packed with light horror, tongue-in-cheek humor and the amazing artwork of Ryan Mendoza (who can draw just about anything with a tentacle).
Parental advisory: There’s so many great series for young adults nowadays that you might be fooled into buying this for your five-year-old, but this series is rated PG-13 and more for teens and above.

In the rustic hills of a small New England Berkshire town lies the prestigious Miskatonic High School. When the Community Service Club goes on a field trip, they’ll be launched on a terrifying adventure that will change their lives while birthing an evil into our modern century.
This is the beginning of the six-issue first season of the new high school horror series Miskatonic High.

We hope so, but here are some unbiased reviews.
Jenn Marshall of Sirens of Sequentials said:
“Miskatonic High is a fun story that balances everything you want in a good horror story. There is some gore, but not so much that you get overwhelmed. The jokes are funny, but they don’t make the story feel like a parody of something else. It was well thought out, and I cannot wait to see where it is going to go next.”
“Artist Ryan Mendoza brings a level of detail to the story that perfectly compliments the writing style. It fits the spooky storytelling by adding shadow to hide monsters, and the detail in the backgrounds make you want to spend time on each panel.”
“The monsters are very Lovecraftian. … Because they have that Lovecraftian feel to them, the monsters really are both written and drawn in a way that affected my Lizard Brain.” Read the full review
The Pullbox called it “the bastard lovechild of John Hughes & H.P. Lovecraft.” (We’re pretty sure they meant that in a metaphorical way, because if that’s literal, well… ewww.)
Here’s more from Paul’s review: “It brings a mismatched group of high schoolers together, throwing them against evil the likes of which you’d find in a dusty tome full of impossible to pronounce names. The beauty is in the execution. Despite some pretty heavy themes -- mounting madness, eternal torment, human sacrifice -- Mike Shea’s story stays fairly tongue in cheek. [Artist Ryan Mendoza] knows how to get his Lovecraft on. So many tentacles…” Read the full review

We’re raising funds to pay for a small print run for our Indiegogo backers and the old one lurking down in the basement. But comics are expensive to make. Printers, the Postal Service and shipping supplies will be taking most of what we raise. Indiegogo takes their percentage, as does payment processing. If anything is left over, we might go nuts on McDonald’s Dollar Menu!

Is that an existential question, because we haven’t gotten that far in AP English Lit yet.
Yes, there are two guys working hard to bring Miskatonic High to life. The comic was written and lettered by Mike Shea and drawn and colored by Ryan Mendoza. We’d say more about ourselves, but we’re actually really busy putting the finishing touches on issue 8!
So you can feel comfortable getting invested in Miskatonic High, because you’re sure to find out the answers to what is really going on!
Additionally, you can follow Miskatonic High on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Plus there's a Miskatonic High website where you can sign up to our mailing list for the latest updates.
Haven't I seen you before?
We did a successful campaign on Kickstarter but have heard that Indiegogo has its own indie comics community and wanted to see if we could find any supporters over here. Consider this a trial for us to settle the whole Indiegogo vs. Kickstarter thing.

"Hey guys, who did that amazing music in your video?"
Glad you asked, it's a track called Wizard by Jahzzar, which is available on the Free Music Archive. We edited the track to fit our video.

The cover and pages for the issue are completed and are just waiting to go to print. We have quotes from several printers which specialize in on-demand comic printing and fulfillment. The pages will be sent in late-May and the issues take approximately two weeks to print. It will take another week or so for all of the items to ship. You should receive the items around the end of June, but we'll keep you updated on the schedule as we find out.
So, really, the biggest risk is an aquatic monster dismembering you and dragging you down your drainpipe. But don’t worry, we know the number for a really good reanimator.
