Unfortunately sometimes in life, bad things do happen, throughout our existence on earth and it usually comes unexpectedly and is very painful. There is nothing we can do to avoid these random things from happening.

Recently, we have just discovered that our Mom, mother of five kids has colorectal cancer. It was very shocking for us kids and Dad, as well as our family to hear that our Mother has cancer. It just seems like this is something that would only happen in the movies. My family and I are all trying hard to work together, plus stay positive for Mom and each other while this is going on. Our Mom has had to stop working and Dad is working 2 jobs to make ends meet, also we kids are working to help with the household expenses.

During This past month, she has been taking chemotherapy and radiation treatments at the same time in the effort and hope of trying to shrink the tumor. She has been a real trooper during all of these treatments. The side effects are really taking a toll on her body. After one and a half months straight of chemotherapy and radiation treatments , she will need to rest her body for one month and then she will need to fly to Colorado for surgery to take out any shrunken microscopic pieces. After she is done healing from her surgery, she will need more chemotherapy.

We are very fortunate to have found a surgeon in Colorado that will do the surgery with the most efficient outcome for our mom, she will not have to have a colostomy bag. With this surgery in Colorado we are asking for any help. Donations will be used to cover these medical expenses.

Living On an island we are limited to the professional care that she will absolutely need for this surgery procedure. Unfortunately, we are incurring many medical expenses that will need to be paid. On top of the traveling expenses from when she goes to Colorado for surgery.

PS - we named her cancer Felicia, my little brother would get too upset hearing the "C" word. Now we have a real reason so say "Bye Felicia!"
