New Tales of the Miskatonic Valley
First released by Miskatonic River Press in 2008, NTotMV was lauded as authentically Lovecraftian and much loved for its mood and style. In 2018, 778 backers helped Stygian Fox Publishing raise £27,171 to make the second edition of NTotMV a reality! We updated the rules to 7th edition Call of Cthulhu, included a new scenario (by Seth Skorkowsky!), updated the entire book to full-color, and, after a lot of delays and missteps (aka learning experiences), we released both the PDF and physical books to our 778 backers.
And we sold out of all of the additional books that were printed. This is where you come in. But first, a word from both legal and a brief blurb about us and a worthy cause:

Help Us Fund a Second Print-Run
We want to print more copies of NTotMV because, quite simply, people still ask about where they can get a copy of it. In order to get people a copy, we've got two choices: POD and a Traditional Print-Run.

Print-on-Demand (Not Really an Option)
- We want to make beautiful, high-quality books for our customers. POD means a lesser quality book (both the cover, page quality, and print quality).
- The "Hardcover, Premium Color" POD option has a print cost of $41.68. After that is subtracted from the Retail Price ($49.95), DTRPG takes 35% of the remaining profit. Simply put, there's no money in POD if one is trying to make a great-looking book for their customers, and even then, the Premium Color POD option isn't as great looking as we can get from a less expensive Traditional Print-Run.

Traditional Print-Run
- We want to make beautiful, high-quality books for our customers. That means a Traditional Print-Run.
- Unlike POD, this has to be funded all at once, meaning a large outlay of cash to our printer. That means we need to raise £6,000.
- After paying royalties and fees, we'd be left with just over £5k, which covers the printing of the books and getting them to us in the UK.
- Shipping is going to be handled via BackerKit, after the campaign. In the past, we've collected it during the campaign but in today's world, shipping costs are fluctuating on an almost daily basis.
- It would be a 500-book print-run. Any extra funds raised as part of this campaign would go towards one of our past-due projects (see FAQ).
As the files are already with Standartu (the printer) and this campaign is only for a second print run, we're keeping it simple with only:

PDFs
PDFs will be fulfilled by DTRPG. Approximately mid-April (as soon as funds from the campaign clear), DTRPG will email backers with their own custom url to download a copy of both NTotMV and the Miskatonic Country Map.

Shipping
Shipping will be charged after the campaign, separate from your pledge so that we can be fair to all our backers. Depending on where in the world you are, we will either ship to you from LMG in the USA (US and some ROW backers), or the UK (UK, Canada and other ROW backers). As a rough estimate, we expect shipping to look something like this:
- UK: £7
- EU: £8-£16
- US: £8
- Rest of the world: approx £20
Unfortunately, import laws and customs in some countries have made it impossible for us to ship to them. We do not ship to: Brazil, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Afghanistan (although we can send you PDFs).
Risks & Challenges
This book has already been created and released (as a PDF and with an initial print-run), so we don't see many challenges to doing a second print-run. Standartu has the files for it, it's simply a matter of us sending them the necessary funds to print it. Once printed, they will ship the books to GMS Hobby Game Logistics, in the UK.
GMS will send a pallet off to Last Mile Game Logistics, in the US. Once that pallet ships, GMS will post books to non-North American backers. GMS is also IOSS-registered, so EU customers shouldn't have to worry about VAT. For North American backers, it was taking about a month to go from the UK, to the US, clear customs, and make it to LMG, but with the state of shipping, we've also had one take three months. We'll do our best to keep everyone informed of shipping issues as they occur.
