“Nightsatan” is a fresh, violent and exciting post-apocalyptic adventure feature-length movie. The film is set in the radiating wastelands of Karelia in the musical year 2037. The synthesizer band Nightsatan, a trio of synth warriors, encounter the sinister DJ witch called Louhi, who rules the wastelands with her two giant war machines and a mind controlled army of undead techno slaves. She steals melodies and creates horrible techno remixes out of them. The confrontation between Nightsatan and DJ Louhi, a huge battle, splits up the band, who are strong together and weak apart. Nightsatan’s synth wizard Mazathoth literally loses his head, but doesn’t die. Nightsatan will have to find each other and themselves in order to conquer their foe, who threatens to disintegrate the Aether, the universal fabric of sound.

Like the heart, he is the one who gets hurt. Inhalator 2 searches for a soul mate. A woman to satisfy his needs. Someone to dance with through the twin moons’ night. INHALATOR 2's skull is made of indestructible Steel Diamond. He is armed with a crossbow, laser drum pads and laser whip.

Mazathoth, the brains of Nightsatan, is an armor clad synth wizard, who is always the smartest eccentric in the room. He is an expert on sonic rituals and a Starmaster, a member of the brotherhood sworn to protect the Aether. Beyond this little is known about this mysterious character, but in this movie it is revealed that his decapitation doesn't kill him. And that he fought in Vietnam! Wielding the Golden Staff of Wheels, a magical weapon, MAZATHOTH is able to create a storm of sharp cogwheels shredding anything in his way into smitherins.

Wolf-Rami, the muscles of Nightsatan, hides his face behind a skull mask. The mercilessly violent Wolf- Rami despises mankind. He enjoys the taste of human flesh, preferably raw. He is depressed and wallows in shame, because he is a closet homosexual deeply in denial. WOLF-RAMI is armed with a billhook blade, a skinning knife and circular saw blades, that slay their prey with lethal precision.

This unique and seductive concept started out as an idea for a music video, but expanded into a short film. A music video wouldn’t have been enough for exposing Nightsatan to the world. So with 24 minutes of post- apocalyptic insanity the short film Nightsatan and the Loops of Doom was released on DVD to be sold with the original soundtrack, Nightsatan's second album with the same title. The original Solina Records and Svart Records joint release of the short film and original soundtrack package has been sold out both on LP and CD (over 3000 copies) and re-released by cult music record label Death Waltz Records. The short film won the Golden Skull Award for Best Short Film at Morbido festival 2014, Mexico. Nightsatan and the Loops of Doom is still traveling to film festivals around the globe. Nightsatan and the Loops of Doom has been aired on Finnish TV four times in an art cinema slot, which certainly is a brave choice from the channel. Here’s what the internet oracles had to say about it in their reviews.

"You just can’t describe NightSatan. It’s something that you have to experience. Not just the music, but the film. Both are something that I’ve never witnessed before and was presently surprised with each."
Grim Tower.com’s 10/10 review
"It is rare that I view something so absurd and insane and still have such an enjoyable time as I have had with NightSatan and the loops of Doom"
Skullbanger.com
”You'll get all the things you wish for in classic exploitative cinema, including gore, nudity, and spectacular one-liners.”
Rocknreelreviews.com
”Ridiculously, it works perfectly.”

We got a great reception for the short film and many fans were asking us when we will make the feature film. We feel the time is now!

Nightsatan and the Loops of Doom was shot in a small sand pit in Finland, but we need more vast space for the Nightsatan feature film. Nightsatan will be shot in a desert location with real actors and extras. When the film's characters crawl out of Karelia's subterranean caves, they are surrounded by an endless ocean of radioactive sand dunes. Our goal is to create every set, every piece of wardrobe and props physically and practically to create the post- apocalyptic wasteland surroundings in a real desert. Miniatures, creature FX and retro futuristic vehicles will all be built, for instance mutant vultures and bats and a levitating wasteland speeder called the Concubike. CGI will be avoided and only used as a last resort.

We are now crowd-funding the development of the Nightsatan feature film on Indiegogo. We think it’s an excellent platform to get in touch with our fans to support our cause. To make the ultimate post- apocalyptic synthesizer adventure! We need $60.000 for working on designing the sets, props and fashion of this extraordinary wasteland epic. The retro futuristic look and style of the film is a crucial surface for the characters’ satirical journeys into their damned souls. Please support us in our Nightsatanic synth quest.

Nightsatan, the band
Nightsatan is a real band from Turku, Finland, playing retro futuristic instrumental synthesizer music in the style of genre favorites Goblin, Vangelis and John Carpenter. Nightsatan has released two singles and two studio albums. The latest two releases have been original soundtrack records to CHRZU's short films. They have been collaborating on audiovisual projects since 2009. CHRZU has created the album art for Nightsatan’s Midnite Laser Warrior album and the band has scored three of his short films. The Nightsatan band naturally scores the Nightsatan movie with impeccable sense of style.

The style of “Nightsatan" is retro- futuristic. It looks like New Barbarians, a classic Italian Mad Max rip off from the 80’s by Enzo G. Castellari. The production design is heavily influenced by 80's fashion, graphic design and pop culture to create a future, where the audience can experience a fresh take on a nostalgic adventure story. Even the film's special effects are traditional in their visualization, assisted practical effects, like we did in the first installment of Nightsatan films, that is the short film “Nightsatan and the Loops of Doom” (2013).
![]()
The hidden strength of the Nightsatan concept lies in the absence of written comedy. The humorous aspects of the story manifest in the outrageousness of the characters, their motivations and the lack of any familiar moral code in this barren world of music. It's all fun with no jokes. No tongue in cheek flirting with the camera. No apparent irony.
![]()
The film's clever take on gender roles is a satire on chauvinism and machismo. It challenges the conventions of genre cinema. Men are easily led, dysfunctional fools despite their heroic outfits and illusions of patriarchy. The female character's are resourceful, civilized, smart and strong, but they are trapped in the same world, outnumbered by primal, male scoundrels. The women get to take care of men's responsibilities and despise them for it. Life is hard for a good woman in the retro future.

The theme of this story is unity. Unity of a band and a broken family. Can you choose your own family? The family theme is inspired by Star Wars, but is stained with divorce, abuse, trauma and addiction.
Nightsatan is a brave and unique project that is not easily fitted into a pre-existing slot. It’s like Mad Max: Fury Road without the vehicles or like Turbo Kid without the innocence, but with horror and synthesizers.

Nightsatan is made for the masses of fanboys and fangirls, who grew up with 80's futuristic genre film classics like Star Wars, Mad Max and Robocop. It’s for an audience who appreciate imagination and passion more than size and a multi billion budget. Nightsatan is for the adventure loving adults, who aren’t getting their kicks from PG-13 rated genre films.

Nightsatan overlaps several fantastic film sub genres, like space operas, futuristic dystopias and existential westerns. The secret of our recipe is having profound, original, adult oriented content wrapped in a heavily stylized package for an audience that wants to see something challenging and enjoyable.
The influences to CHRZU's writing for Nightsatan come from the vaults of cult cinema from such titles as Jodorowski's El Topo, Lucas' Star Wars IV: A New Hope and Herzog's Bad Lieutenant Ports of Call New Orleans. Nightsatan is a pseudo- existential satire about questionable cannibal musicians playing touching synth music.

The visual influences are channeled from Castellari's New Barbarians, Miller's Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and Band's Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared Syn. Nightsatan is a true 80's post- apocalyptic fashion show with eye popping battles and outrageous drama.
Our team loves the 80's pop culture aesthetics. The action figures, the computer games, the fashion styles. Laser fire, bloody chrome and studded leather. It’s all 80’s, where Miami Vice meets Conan the Barbarian.

We need to get the project running to create our visual package to convince potential co-producers, sales and funding agents. We still need to hire and find a production designer, who we want to work with. Unless we can get the funding together for our team of professionals to kickstart the development of the film, this project might be shrugged off as not having enough to show. We need to attract devoted partners to the project and we can achieve this by showing that Nightsatan is in demand. That it has an audience, a community of fans. It's a critical stage to move from script to development and the real challenge is to acquire the necessary funds. We need money for designing all of the film's distinct post- apocalyptic weapons, the epic sets, the wasteland fashion, the strange characters and mutated creatures of this laser metal future.
With your help, we need to raise $60.000 to get the Nightsatan film into development.
