This is singer Jim Gillette. When Nitro first got together, guitar virtuoso Michael Angelo Batio and I set out to build the band we'd always envisioned. A band of amazing musicians that combined everything we loved about aggressive Heavy Metal. That band became known as NITRO. We stormed onto the Los Angeles music scene like a "Freight Train" with our over-the-top, in-your-face brand of Metal. People didn’t know what hit them!

Off The Rails

NITRO got signed after performing only 1 show (at Gazzarri's on the Sunset Strip) and soon afterwards, started to record our first album "OFR." We were excited that being in the Hollywood Glam Metal scene, where bands basically sounded the same, we were different and getting attention for our musicianship and more aggressive sound. Unfortunately, that’s when the "Freight Train" went down the wrong track. The "suits" started to change our vision and eventually pushed NITRO in a direction that they thought would be more profitable. The rest is history.

On the Siding

After NITRO disbanded, Michael began a successful solo career and travels the world doing solo Guitar shows, continuing his legacy as the "No. 1 Shredder of all time." I became a Fighter. Teaching and competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I also became a Father, raising two amazing young men. Michael and I remained very close friends and continued to write music together every now and then. We never really felt that we achieved that goal of the ultimate Metal band. We felt that the time was right to resurrect our dream and put together the band that we had always envisioned.

Reinventing, Revolutionizing and Rebuilding The Machine

In August of 2016, Michael and I began planning the rebirth of NITRO. We knew that we had to create something really special and could not repeat the mistakes that lead this "Freight Train" down the wrong track. It's time to make NITRO the aggressive, brutal, and technical Metal band that we always envisioned - on our terms. That meant putting together a team that shared the same vision. We knew that getting the ultimate Metal Drummer was a top priority. Only one Drummer's name came to mind - Chris Adler. As a founding member of Lamb Of God, Chris managed to rack up several Grammy nominations. Chris has also played and recorded with many other heavy hitters like Testament and Megadeth, is a constant staple on the cover of all the major drum magazines, and has been voted “Drummer of the Year” multiple times.

Refueling and stoking the boilers

To restart the engine, we need fuel in the form of money to get this project restarted and running at full speed as soon as possible. This is where you come in.  Our fundraiser is to create the first and only Nitro album that is 100% our vision, on our terms, and with the music the way we've always wanted.  But this album is not just for us. It's also for you! Nothing would make us happier than to give you that record! It's going to be an extremely expensive task to record an album like this. Not having a record company looking over our shoulders, telling us what to do,  will be a blessing and at the same time, our biggest challenge.  I've always taken challenges head on and put every ounce of strength and passion into reach my goal. Michael and Chris are the same.

We have detailed every aspect of the budget so you get an exact idea of what we are doing and what the cost's are.  Again, this campaign allows us to make the best album we can, write songs to the best of our abilities, work with the top people in the music industry and give you our finest performances.

All merchandise is currently being designed exclusively for this campaign. We have some retro items up now and will update as new items are available. Once they’re gone they will never be re released, reprinted, or duplicated the way they're available here. These are collectors items!
