What is oodles?
oodles is a new way in which individuals can contribute towards local, national, and international good causes as well as spreading the word for those good causes to colleagues, friends and family, and their online following.
We're a non-profit organisation registering as a charity in England.
Here's how oodles works:
Join oodles!
Once launched you can become an oodles member by purchasing a kit'n'kaboodle starter pack for £5. The starter pack contains an oodles noodle (a cord that can be used as a necklace, bracelet, or anklet) and their first oodle (a wooden bead to thread onto the noodle and start their collection). Within the starter pack there is also a unique 2D bar-code and serial number that can either be scanned or typed into the oodles mobile app or website.

Receive oodles
Once in the oodles mobile app or on the oodles website you will be asked to register your details and scan your code to be allocated 400 oodles credits. If you wish, you can set up a regular donation, however a key principle of oodles is that there is no minimum contribution and you can donate as and when you like.

Give oodles
Now that you have a stack of oodles to give away, you can view featured good causes, search for charities by category, or select from recent and favourite charities, and allocate your oodles as you wish. You can change where you allocate your oodles as often as you wish. You can support many different charities at the same time, and can even divert your donation if there is an urgent appeal.
Spread oodles of love!
Giving oodles to good causes is not the end of the story. In order to spread the word for the good causes you support, you can choose to post your allocation to social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, and of course you can wear your oodles bracelet and tell everyone you know!
Earn oodles more oodles
By spreading the word and posting to social media, you will unlock achievements and earn new oodles beads for your bracelet. Special edition oodles, showing support for a specific charity, can be purchased from the oodles store.

oodles is a non-profit organisation currently in the process of registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. As such we are required to post annual accounts with the Charities Commission. However we want there to be total transparency and trust in our organisation. Therefore we will post monthly accounts on the oodles website as well as publishing the salaries of all company directors. When operational, oodles will make every effort to ensure that as much of your donation reaches charities as possible. oodles will retain a maximum of 5% of the value of donations to cover operating costs and development, however this will be assessed and reduced where possible.
We need your help!
Within 24 months of operation we aim to generate £3 million in grants to UK charities. It's an ambitious project but with your help we know we can get there!
We are busy building the oodles mobile and web apps, establishing the supply chain and raising the oodles profile, but we need your help. The oodles team is made up of volunteers, all investment so far has come from friends and family but we have reached the stage where in order to bring the project to fruition we need additional funds for hosting costs and manufacturing stock ready to launch.
So become a founding member!
You can help us by becoming a founding member of the oodles community. As a founding member you will receive a limited edition pre-launch oodles bracelet and bead that you can wear with pride and spread the word about oodles. You'll also receive a special founder's achievement on your oodles user profile that is shown whenever you share an allocation on Facebook or Twitter.
Each month oodles will feature a number of charities in each region of England and Wales. These features are designed to raise the profile of small local charities that are struggling to find the funds necessary to continue their good work. As a founding member you can also recommend a charity to become one of oodles very first featured charities.
Your contribution will be used to ensure the on-time development and launch of the oodles platform. It will not form part of the oodles charity fund. But you will be the first to know when the platform launches and you'll be able to purchase oodles credits and support your favourite causes straight away.
Charity should be inclusive. An integral part of the oodles community is spreading the word to friends, family, and colleagues. It's just as important as the donation itself. So even if you can't purchase a founding members pack, please follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.

FAQ
What does oodles earn?
oodles is a non-profit organisation currently in the process of registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. As such we are required to post annual accounts with the Charities Commission. Where does this 5% go?
The 5% fee that oodles retain pay for the platform and business operating costs. These include hosting fees and software costs, office rental, marketing and PR, salaries (for full time employees, Directors salaries will be published on the oodles website), volunteer expenses. Full monthly accounts, including a breakdown of the total amount granted to each charity, will be published on the oodles website.
Where can I get the kit'n'kaboodle starter pack?
When the service is launched, the kit'n'kaboodle starter pack will be available in selected high street retailers and the oodles online store.
When is oodles going to launch?
Every effort will be made to fulfill orders for oodles accessories made through this campaign before the end of 2016. This way you can wear your oodles charms and tell everyone about the community. However due to being a small team, we will not be ready to launch oodles until March 2017. Don't worry, we will keep you updated every step of the way.
How are donations made?
Donations can be made online through the oodles web and mobile apps using Paypal. This does not mean that you need a Paypal account, Paypal can also securely process debit and credit card transactions without registering. Paypal charges are currently being negotiated.
