The Ottawa Tool Library (OTL) believes that creative output should not be limited by income or workspace. By providing affordable access to tools, creative spaces and workshops, OTL is a resource that can empower your inner handy person, chef, gardener, or creative genius.
With your help, the Ottawa Tool Library will open its first storefront location
and make its tool inventory available to everyone – all by the summer of
2015.

Membership
Your membership includes unlimited access to all OTL
tools. Each tool can be borrowed for up to 7 days at a time. We offer individual and group memberships.
Tools
We offer tools in four categories: hand tools, power tools, garden tools, and kitchen tools. There is something for everyone to tackle their do-it-yourself (DIY) projects, get the garden planted, or cook that big dinner for the family reunion.
Workshops
Roll up your sleeves and learn from community experts,
passionate makers, and builders. All workshops are designed by member
suggestions. These include Plumbing 101, Table Saw Safety, Planter Box Building,
Batch Cooking, Paint Techniques and more.
Maker Space
Love to tinker? We do too! Our space will include workbenches,
chalk boards, white boards, papers, pens and more to help you put an idea down,
explore ideas and get to work making it happen!

Tools
The Ottawa Tool Library is made possible with the help of
community donations of underused tools. These tools can be found collecting dust
in basements, in cluttered kitchen cupboards, and long forgotten in storage
units. We are a positive outlet for donors who are downsizing or
dealing with the passing of a loved one. The Ottawa Tool Library is a place where
their cherished tools can be put back into circulation and enjoyed by many. We
are always accepting quality donations, so please consider donating by
reaching out via our website.
Time
As a registered not-for-profit organization, we rely
heavily on volunteers to see this initiative move forward. The Ottawa Tool
Library wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for those who continue to pick up
and maintain our tool donations, those who help us write grant and funding
proposals, the passionate doers and teachers that will act as workshop
educators, and the desk volunteers who have signed up and are ready to greet
you once our doors open.
Tender
Your financial contribution will keep the lights on, pay insurance, rent, hydro and needed tools we may not be able to receive via donations. These are costs that "time and "tools" can't purchase.
Every dollar we raise goes back into our community space and towards the success of our tool library.
Lastly, thank you for connecting, liking, and sharing!
