Over 3 million animals are put to sleep every year in the United States.
Together we can help these puppies find a permanent home.
Our group, Pause for Paws, has taken the task of raising $1500 to benefit Paws on Parole this semester. These dogs are depending on your charitable donations to live another day.
Pause for Paws stems from a group project from students at the University of Florida. We believe that even as students, we can make a difference. Our group consists of dedicated and passionate students from all walks of life. Below you can find the names of our group members:

Paws on Parole is a partnership program between Alachua County Animal Services and the Florida Department of Corrections Gainesville Work Camp.
The program’s main goal is to increase the adoption and retention rates of selected dogs at the Alachua County Animal Shelter. In addition, the program provides experience and education in dog care for inmates. The Paws on Parole program has also had a strong positive effect on ACAS’s relations with the local community, through the involvement of local businesses in supporting the program and through the many outreach and outing activities related to the program.
You Can Help
Food, treats, training equipment, toys, grooming supplies, flea and heartworm prevention ...it sure adds up fast! Our organization is run entirely on donations from the public. We are always in need of various supplies as well as monetary donations to properly care for the dogs that we have in our program.
Every little bit helps! All proceeds and funding will go directly to this program!
By donating to our cause, you will have the pleasure of knowing you have helped hundreds of dogs to have a safe, warm place to stay until they find a permanent home and family. You will be helping to reduce the overpopulation of dogs and to lower the heartbreakingly high number of dogs euthanased every year because they can't find a home.
We understand that not everyone has the capability to donate funds, but there are many other ways YOU can HELP.
Please share our campaign on your Facebook and Twitter! By promoting our cause, you are helping hundreds of dogs find a permanent home.
We always need cleaning supplies, food and toys. Because all of our training is reward based we are always in need of training treats. Food stuffable toys are great for mental stimulation and exercise. Some of the other things we need are: SLR digital camera, dog shampoo, brushes, nail clippers, ear cleaner, crate mats, Bully sticks, dog toys, notebook paper for journaling.
We also encourage visitors!
