QUILT is a community-driven platform for a variety of underrepresented members of the queer community. We want to create a space where voices from all gender expressions, ethnic and national backgrounds, sexual preference or lack thereof, and bodies can be heard on a national level. Our goal is to provide that platform for those voices to speak about culture, news, entertainment, current events, interviews, lifestyle and education to patch together our intersectional communities.

Why QUILT?

When you are able to give a  voice to an under represented member of ANY community, it just feels good. We want to create a sustainable business model where writers are paid for their contributions to QUILT, both ensuring that we maintain a high quality of work for audience and also fairly compensating writers for the time and effort they put into each piece of QUILT. Each member of our team comes from a different background in community building, website management, and writing, but we all share a drive to enable marginalized groups to have their stories told.

What does QUILT need?

Our funds are going to be going towards web development, content production financing, promotion of QUILT, trademark licensing, and creating a nest egg for payment of staff and contributing writers in the future. Many sites have trouble maintaining quality of content and longevity without such funding, so your contributions mean QUILT will have a more stable stage for underrepresented voices to use to speak out!
