In sha Allah, Ramadan will likely start aroun the 27th of May and will continue for 30 days.

The holy month of Ramadan is a festive time for all Muslim communities in the world. But it is still a bleak time in Gaza.

In the aftermath of the devastating 2014 Gaza bombing by Israel (3rd onslaught in 6 years, and one of its bloodiest attacks on Palestinians) the continued siege for the past 10 years, the protracted economic and environmental issues remain or have worsened, having a significant and devastating impact on families especially financially.

Palestinian Economy in Decline and Unemployment Rising to Alarming Levels. The Gaza economy entered into recession due to the siege even before the breakout of the recent Israeli bombing which has had a severe impact on all economic sectors in addition to the tragic humanitarian losses.

It is impossible to provide for their families without charity from relief agencies, and charity campaigns done from local residents.

Seventy percent of Gaza workers still live in poverty.

A quarter of the Palestinian population lives in poverty, with the rate in Gaza twice as high as that in the West Bank.

The Israeli blockade has obstructed, blocked and destroyed the Palestinian economy in Gaza. In the last Gaza bombing by Israel, many factories and businesses were destroyed and still have not been rebuilt, causing thousands of Gazans lose their job. Roughly 30,000 Gazans lost jobs because of the 2014 summer bombing by Israel, according to Frode Mauring, the U.N. Development Programs special representative for Gaza and the West Bank.

Nearly 80 percent of the population receives social assistance, and nearly 40 percent of them still fall below the poverty line.

Currently:

I'm going to collect donations in order to be distribute food aid packages to the most dire families in refugee camps in Gaza Strip during the month of Ramadan

Providing Food packages to these families allows them to enjoy a decent meal during Ramadan, a meal for Suhoor, which is the last meal consumed in the early morning hours before the start of the daily fasting and will provide families with the important calories needed during the fasting hours until Iftar, the evening meal in Ramadan when one breaks their fasting, something they would not otherwise be able to provide for themselves without our help in donations.

RAMADAN FOOD PACKAGES:
PACKAGE Costs 60$
Each food package holds mostly canned and dry food supply.
Packages include a juice, 4-litter jug, filling staples like rice, lentils, flour, canned fava beans, pasta, oil, bag of sugar, bag of salt, canned meats, jar of jelly, cheese, box of dried tea, canned tomato sauce, container of halawa (halva).

I would appreciate your help and support. My goal is to provide food aid packages to the most poor families in the middle area of Gaza strip, to the poorest areas in Gaza, which, of course, is suffering from a prolonged, brutal siege.

All and any help is appreciated.

During the month of Ramadan, I will post pictures of food package donations being delivered to the families and update the progress as I go through this journey of helping the needy in this unfortunate circumstances for Palestinians in Gaza.

Thank you to keep standing with GAZA. We are survive because your caring to us.
